America loves pickup trucks, so it’s no surprise that the three best-selling vehicles of 2022 so far are trucks. Dominating the sales of the first quarter of the year are the Ford F-series, Ram series, and Chevy Silverado. Here’s what you’ll get if you buy one of the best 2022 pickup trucks, and how much you’ll pay for them.

1. The 2022 Ford F-Series is the best-selling pickup truck – again

It seems that the 2022 Ford F-150 is always at the top of the sales charts, and the first three months of 2022 are no different, with 140,701 trucks sold. Still, Forbes points out that even though the F-series trucks came in first overall for the quarter, it was closer than it usually is. In fact, in March the 2022 Chevy Silverado took first place, and Ford trucks barely outsold Ram trucks for the quarter.

The 2022 Ford F-150 price starts at $39,395 for the base model XL. This comes with a 3.3-liter V6 engine that can make 290 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. There are other engine options available, including a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 that puts out 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, as well as a 5.0-liter V8 engine with 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. There are also multiple available trim levels, meaning you can upgrade your 2022 F-150 to be just about luxurious.

2. Ram series trucks take second place

Ram series trucks are in second place for sales for the first quarter of 2022, passing the Chevy Silverado. That’s thanks to the 127,116 Rams sold. The Ram 1500 has a roomy interior and updated technology. The 2022 Ram 1500 price starts at $36,675. That’s for the base model, the Ram Tradesman. The Tradesman comes with a 5-inch touchscreen that, while small, “has the basics down pat,” according to Edmunds. It also has 18-inch wheels, remote entry and remote start, and an air filtration system. It also comes with a six-speaker sound system.

3. The 2022 Chevy Silverado drops to third place

The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado was in second place, but the Ram series knocked it down to third place. Chevy is experiencing the same supply chain problems that other auto manufacturers are, though it says that things are beginning to look up. That helped give The Silverado a boost in March, pushing it to first place in sales. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to pass the Ram in sales, leaving the Silverado in third place with 118,796 trucks sold.

The 2022 Chevy Silverado price starts at $33,800 and it comes with a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. This makes 420 lb-ft of torque and is matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2022 Silverado 1500 has a spacious interior and its technology is easy to use, so there isn’t a giant learning curve.

The best trucks of 2022 include the usual three favorites, which should surprise nobody. What will the rest of the year bring? We’ll have to wait and see. If the supply chain problems persist, we could end up with some surprising vehicle sales.
