Out of all the trucks to love, Tom Brady is smitten with the Ford F-150 Raptor. That makes sense. It’s one beastly model to enjoy. However, Tom Brady may love the 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor for a surprising reason.

Most people probably love the 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor because it’s incredibly powerful and has unique suspension upgrades to conquer the wild. But sometimes, it’s too wide for narrow trails, and its weight can be concerning in areas with soft mud.

But Tom Brady is in love with its size. According to Ford Authority, Ford CEO Jim Farley got to interview Tom Brady about his favorite vehicles. The interview was for a podcast called the Drive and revealed surprising information.

For example, out of plenty of luxury vehicles from Aston Martin, Ferrari, Bugatti, and Rolls-Royce, NFL Star Tom Brady loves the Ford F-150 Raptor. He loves it for its practicality, not its performance.

Some wouldn’t consider a monster truck that gets an EPA-estimated 15 mpg in the city and up to 18 mpg on the highway very practical, but it helps meet Brady’s needs.

Tom Brady shared that he has been buying Ford F-150 Raptor models for years because it’s the perfect ruck. Plus, it’s big and bigger guys, like professional football players need more space.

How big is the F-150 Raptor?

The 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor is about 231.9 inches or 19.33 feet long. It’s 83.6 inches or about 7.20 feet long and 78.5 or about 6.54 feet tall. It has a ground clearance of 12.0 inches, and Tom Brady is 6’4″. He needs a vehicle with enough head space.

Plus, once you throw linebackers, receivers, and other teammates in the mix, then your vehicle needs to be large enough to accommodate them.

For example, when you drive someone that weighs 320 pounds and wears size 17 shoes, you need enough passenger and cargo space for them and their gear.

Tom Brady shared that he wears a size 13 shoe and has bigger clothes than his wife. So even though she packs more clothes than he does, his suitcase is always larger than hers.

The F-150 Raptor offers up to 50.9 cubic feet of cargo space inside of the cab. It has a 5-foot -inch bed, but you can upgrade to the 6-foot, 6-inch, or 8-foot bed. The largest bed provides up to 77.4 cubic feet of cargo space.

How much power does the F-150 Raptor have?

The 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor uses a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. The Raptor can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 5.5 seconds. It can tow up to 8,200 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,400 lbs.

Tom Brady may upgrade to the 2023 Ford Raptor R if he wants more power. It could come with the 5.2-liter V8 Predator engine with 760 hp and 625 b-ft of torque. The truck won’t be bigger, but it will feature unique suspension tuning to accommodate the extra weight.

Do you know what they say about guys with big feet? Bigs trucks are better for holding their gear. Perhaps Brady should consider the Ford F-150 Lightning for its front truck if he needs more room.
