Police officers shared that no people were injured during the incident that occurred on Highway 72. However, someone might be at a massive financial loss as chickens raced to get away.
The mother cluckers weaved through traffic and disappeared into the woods. They were being transported to the city. It’s unclear if they were being used for meat or to lay eggs, but some might get a better life.
Fire responders and firefighters were seen trying to catch them. However, using bait failed to lure the chickens during all the chaos.
Residents were begged to avoid the area as traffic delays began to pile up. According to 5 News Online, Drivers were warned about thousands of chickens being everywhere.
It’s unclear what caused the truck to crash. But perhaps a few chickens did something to distract the trucker. Unfortunately, several chickens did lose their lives in the back of the tractor-trailer.
