What started as an ordinary Monday at a Sedalia, Missouri, grocery store turned into a scene straight out of a low-budget crime drama…with a heart-wrenching twist. And no, it’s not just because a 30-year-old Oldsmobile was stolen.

According to court records filed on April 16, two women, Josephine C. Marek (21) and Ashley N. Bardin (23), now face a laundry list of felony charges. Police say they assaulted a man in the Woods Supermarket parking lot and stole his 1995 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight. But here’s the kicker: a blind passenger was still sitting inside the vehicle when they took off.

The incident unfolded on April 14. Sedalia police responded to reports of a disturbance outside the store at 701 E. Broadway. The victim said Marek and Bardin forcibly pulled him from his classic car.

The women sped off in the Oldsmobile…with his visually impaired passenger along for the ride

The chaos didn’t end there. Authorities say the pair later returned to the same parking lot and collided with another vehicle, injuring the passenger in the process. That’s when the story took another wild turn.

Enter suspect number three: Hallee M. Fox, 23. Police say she helped the victim out of the wrecked vehicle and dialed 911. However, authorities claim she fed dispatchers a plate of lies about Marek’s whereabouts. She didn’t get away with it. Officers took her into custody shortly after.

Bardin first denied Marek’s role in the crime but later confessed. As it stands, Marek and Bardin are facing charges ranging from robbery to kidnapping and armed criminal action, KCTV shared. Fox, though not yet charged, remains behind bars as of April 16.

No hearing date’s been set, and police haven’t released further details. But if you ever needed a reminder to lock your doors and watch your Oldsmobile, this is it.
