The Kia Telluride came out of nowhere, and now it’s one of the most popular vehicles in the country. In fact, the Telluride is selling so fast that dealers are cranking up the price, and consumers are still buying it. Supercars that have been on top for years have had to bow down before the Telluride’s greatness.

That’s because the 2020 Kia Telluride has something that supercars don’t. It has the ability to lull your child to sleep while you listen to your favorite songs. So how does the Telluride manage to do the impossible? Consumer Reports has all the details.

There’s a reason they call the Telluride the Selluride

Three-row SUVs are currently some of the hottest sellers in America, and Kia decided to take advantage of this with the Telluride. It’s not exactly good for off-roading, although an off-road version may be in the works.

The engine isn’t the most powerful on the market, but it’s more than capable enough to satisfy most drivers. The Telluride has a 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The interior has a very luxurious feel with seats that are upholstered with synthetic leather. The second row is very comfortable for both children and adults, while the third row is a little cramped.

There is also quite a bit of standard safety features that include forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitors, automatic emergency braking, and lane-switching assistance.

The Kia Telluride is perfect for families

Anyone who has had a baby in the family knows how stressful it can be to get them to sleep. Whether it’s your own child or a younger sibling, it’s almost nerve-racking trying to keep them asleep. That’s where the Quiet Mode comes in.

If you opt to go with either the EX or the SX trim, you can get the Quiet Mode, which allows you to mute the speakers in the back seat. So how exactly does this help keep your sleeping child resting peacefully?

Well, it allows you to continue listening to your favorite music while cutting off all the noise that might awaken your tiny sleeping giant. All that effort you took to put your baby to sleep will remain intact as you travel back home. This will help relieve your stress levels, and your child can continue to get some rest.

On the flip side, Kia has added in Driver Talk. This allows drivers to speak to passengers in the back row through the speaker system. This will help drivers spare their vocal cords if they have to yell over a group of small children having a great time in the back.

That being said, there is no rear entertainment system, so you might have a problem keeping your little one amused. There are always options to simply buy a tablet with a harness that fits on the back of the seat, so it’s not actually that big of a deal.

You’ll love taking the Telluride on road trips

Road trips have become quite the fad thanks to COVID-19, and the Kia Telluride is quickly becoming one of the top road trip vehicles. It checks a lot of the boxes people look for when they pick a vehicle they might hit the road in.

The Kia Telluride also has an incredibly comfortable ride that is perfect when you’re sitting in the same position for hours on end. It’s also got plenty of room, meaning that you can tow everything you want, while also bringing along essentials like first aid kits, tire irons, and snacks for your kids.
