Cadillac is one of the most well-known American luxury brands in the market. Its models are distributed in 34 different markets globally and currently consist of sedans all labeled CT, like the CT4 and CT5, and SUVs labeled XT, like the XT4 and XT5. But the automaker is much more well-known for its SUVs from the past like the SRX and Escalade and due to their popularity, they have the most complaints that owners posted on Carcomplaints.com.

Cadillac SRX

The Cadillac SRX was the brand’s five-seat crossover that was in production from 2004 to 2016. Given its relatively long lifespan and conveniently and luxuriously packaged size, it gained a lot of popularity, which likely why there are currently 420 complaints filed on Carcomplaints.com.

The worst model year for the SRX is 2010. And while it has the most complaints of all the Cadillac SUVs, the main issue is water getting into the headlights. According to Car Complaints, it costs about $1,640 on average for the repairs as the whole headlight needs to be replaced.

Cadillac Escalade

The Cadillac Escalade is likely the brand’s most well-known nameplate and is still going strong with some new revisions for the 2021 model year. Interestingly enough, despite the Escalade’s overwhelming popularity, there are only 64 complaints listed, with the worst most year being 2014. However, the 2007 model year has the most complaints and the worst issue listed is due to electrical problems, in which owners are complaining that the door handles break off. Fortunately, it’s only an $80 fix, according to Car Complaints.

Cadillac Escalade EXT

If you want an SUV that’s part Escalade and a part pick-up truck, then the Escalade EXT is the one to get. Just know that there are 13 complaints filed for it and the worst year to get is the 2008 model year. Fortunately, the main issue is that water gets in the headlights, which Car Complaints lists as a $1,800 fix. There are other complaints listed for issues, like the air shocks leaking, however, there’s only one complaint filed for that.

Cadillac SUV complaints

While we have only listed a few of the SUVs in Cadillac’s lineup, just know that the aforementioned three are the ones with most complaints filed. The reason for this is due to their popularity as the number of complaints is not based on percentages and are the actual number of complaints about each one. It’s also worth mentioning that because one SUV has more complaints than another, it doesn’t mean that it is less reliable.

Cadillac makes dependable and trustworthy SUVs as is evident in the automaker’s new lineup. The new lineup of XT-labeled SUVs barely has any complaints filed, although, they are newer.
