Of the large list of various auto brands, there is a wide range of vehicles. There are both luxury and mainstream segments. Then there are cars, crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks. Each vehicle has other classifications according to its size such as compact, mid-size, or full-size. One thing rings true for every brand, however, and that is that every vehicle isn’t perfect. There are always going to be trip-ups and hiccups. When there are, we can usually rely on some consumers to file complaints on CarComplaints.com. According to the data found on that website, these are the most complained about auto brands.

Honda

Honda is a Japanese car company that dominates a huge part of the US automobile market. It’s one of the industry leaders when it comes to quality and performance. Because of this, it’s also a very popular brand among Americans and their families. According to Statista, Honda is the fourth most sold brand in the US.

Due to the popularity of Honda auto brand vehicles, they have also accumulated many complaints on the CarComplaints.com database. In fact, Honda auto brand vehicles have received 27,941 complaints in total. That means Honda is third on the list of the most complained about auto brands.

The 2008 Honda Accord is deemed the worst Honda model of all. According to the data provided by consumer complaints, other ‘worst’ models include the 2003 Accord, 2001 Civic, 2004 Accord, 2002 Accord, and the 2006 Civic. The Civic and Accord have the most reported complaints. However, this isn’t because they are bad cars. They are actually both good vehicles. But because of their popularity, they have accumulated the most complaints.

Chevrolet

Statista reports that Chevy is the third most sold brand in America. With such popularity comes more room for error. Overall, the Chevrolet auto brand has 31,133 complaints filed for its vehicles.

The Chevrolet lineup offers plenty of cars, trucks and SUVs to America drivers. There are some that have accumulated more than others. Due to some problem areas occurring in popular models, Chevrolet is second on this list of the most complained about auto brands.

The worst Chevy is posted by CarComplaints.com as the 2005 Chevrolet Impala. This model is joined by the 2011 Cruze, 2011 Equinox, 2007 Silverado, 2005 Trailblazer, and the 2010 Equinox. Many of Chevy’s popular car, truck, and SUV models contribute to it’s being one of the most complained about auto brands.

Ford

Ford, according to the data on Statista, is the most sold brand in America. So, it’s not shock to us that it is also the most complained about auto brand. Overall, Ford vehicles have accrued 45,540 complaints on CarComplaints.com.

The Ford cars, trucks, and SUVs that give the auto brand such popularity are also responsible for the incidents that lead to complaint reporting. However, just because it is the most complained about auto brand doesn’t mean it makes bad vehicles. The numbers are largely due to popularity.

Ford worst model, according to CarComplaints, is the 2002 Ford Explorer. That model is joined by other ‘worst’ titles belonging to the 2002 Explorer, 2004 Explorer, 2014 Focus, 2013 Escape, and the 2012 Focus. The problems with these models are a contributing factor for Ford claiming the number one spot on the list of the most complained about auto brands.

Toyota

According to Statista, Toyota is the second most sold brand in America. It’s right behind Ford in sales numbers. However, we felt it worth noting that regardless of Toyota’s popularity it didn’t make this list of the most complained about car brands. In fact, the total number of Toyota complaints is just 14,442. Compared to the other popular brands that ranked so high on CarComlaints.com, Toyota’s numbers are significantly lower.
