If you want a reliable hatchback, then consider the Hyundai Accent Hatchback. It’s proving itself in terms of quality, value, and dependability. Check out why the 2017 Hyundai Accent Hatchback deserves a chance to go home with you.

The 2017 Hyundai Accent Hatchback

While there is a 2020 Hyundai Accent that starts around $15k, it’s only available as a four-door sedan. The last Accent Hatchback was made in 2017, and you can find used options for about $10k, making it an affordable option.

With a fuel economy of up to 27 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway, the 2017 Hyundai Accent will provide savings at the fuel pump. With its 10 year/100k mile powertrain warranty, you can feel reassured that you’re making the right choice with this hatchback.

2017 Hyundai Accent Hatchback Power

The 2017 Hyundai Accent comes with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that provides 133 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque. It’s available with a manual or automatic transmission to suit your needs.

Don’t be fueled by its engine. The Hyundai Accent can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds, making it a speedy option for passing people on the highway. Also, this hatchback can tow up to 2,000 lb, but it’s so lightweight. We wouldn’t push it.

One drawback is the fact that the Hyundai Accent isn’t available with all-wheel-drive. It only comes in front-wheel drive, so that’s an essential factor to consider if you live in an area with a lot of snow. However, it does have hill-start control and rear disc brakes.

2017 Hyundai Accent Hatchback Features

The 2017 Hyundai Accent is noted for having a surprisingly nice interior for an economy car. The dash looks modern, and the grain over the plastic materials adds an upscale feel. Drivers have reported that the cab provides a quiet and smooth ride as well.

Behind the rear seat, you can access up to 21 cubic feet of cargo space, but the seats don’t fold totally flat. There is up to 45.7 cubic feet of cargo space available, though, making this compact vehicle feel much bigger on the inside.

The high roofline and low floors of the Hyundai Accent Hatchback make it easy for adults to climb in and out of. There is enough space for up to five passengers with adequate storage bins and cup holders.

But the 2017 Hyundai Accent is a bit behind the times on technology. Only the SE trim comes with Bluetooth, and it can’t connect to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. You can still plug your phone into the USB port to charge it and to play your music.

The 2017 Hyundai Accent also doesn’t have a rearview camera, but it’s spacious windows allow you to see past blind spots. Also, the Accent Hatchback is pretty safe with a 4-star safety rating from the NHTSA. Positive reviews are posted everywhere about this car for being reliable, fun to drive, and for having a low maintenance cost. If you spot a used one, go ahead and spring for it.
