The Ford Expedition is ranked top large SUV for 2020

US News says, “The 2020 Ford Expedition sits near the top of our large SUV rankings. It has a powerful turbocharged engine, a composed ride, and a spacious, elegant interior, but its massive size can make it difficult to maneuver.”

It gets positive rankings with a 3.5 L V6 twin-turbocharged EcoBoost engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It’s is available in rear or four wheels through a The XLT, and King Ranch Limited models come in 375-hp, but you can bump it up to the Platinum with 400 horsepower.

Excellent towing capacity and fuel economy

The 2020 Ford Expedition has up to a 9300-pound towing capacity (when properly equipped) with 470 lb-ft torque. This beats the Chevrolet Tahoe towing capacity by 700 pounds. The longer Expedition Max pulls less at 9000 pounds, but that’s still more than every rival. And with 17 MPG city and 24 MPG highway, its fuel economy is superior to that of the Toyota Sequoia, and the Nissan Armada.

Enjoy an upscale interior and an abundance of cupholders

The 2020 Expedition has a seating capacity that accommodates eight and has 15 cupholders. This is perfect for your driving family, or children, and their friends around town. Every model features a power-folding third-row that can be controlled from the cargo area or back seats. The second and third rows fold completely flat for a level floor, making it easier to load cargo. So, if you need to do a project, you have plenty of room to load up the vehicle.

Ford Expedition earns five-star safety rating

It has earned a five-star crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Plus a five-star rating from the National Automobile Dealers Association. The NADA tested the 2020 Ford Expedition in Frontal Barrier Crash, Side Crash, and Side Barrier. It received a five-star rating in all categories.

The Expedition even has active safety features even at entry-level XLT. These features include lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, plus adaptive cruise control.

If you are in the market for a used full-sized SUV, you won’t go wrong choosing an Expedition for your next vehicle. The 2019 Ford Expedition also received high praise in the same areas as this year’s model. It’s easy to see why it was awarded the US News 2019 Best Large SUV for Families.

Overall the Ford Expedition has continued to be one of the best full-size SUVs on the market. With its robust, reliable engines, classy cabin, loads of features, fantastic predicted reliability rating, and abundant cargo space, the Ford Expedition continues to dominate the market.
