When people think of fast Ford vehicles, the first thing that comes to mind is a Ford sports car, like the Shelby Mustang GT500. The automaker does have impressive muscle cars that can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a few seconds. However, one thing that surprises some speed enthusiasts is that Ford also strives to make some of the fastest trucks on the market.

The fastest Ford truck ever made has astonishing acceleration times. Here is a look at this speedy vehicle.

What is the fastest Ford truck ever made?

The 2019 Ford F-150 Limited is one of the most impressive trucks on the market today. Recently, Car and Driver put the Limited to the test and found that it had one of the fastest acceleration times of any truck on the market.

This year, the Ford Limited was redesigned to outperform every other truck on the road. This vehicle is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo engine capable of producing 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. This is a big step up from the previous 375-hp engine offered on the Limited.

The 2019 F-150 Limited weighs about 5,414 pounds, but this doesn’t hinder its ability to be one of the fastest-accelerating trucks. During the speed test, Car and Driver found that this impressive truck can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 5.1 seconds. It’s also capable of traveling a quarter of a mile in just 13.7 seconds, making it the fastest truck built in 2019.

What are some other fast Ford trucks?

Before the 2019 F-150 Limited, the fastest Ford on the market was the 2017 Ford Raptor. It has the same twin-turbo V6 engine as the Limited, but the Raptor weighs about 400 pounds more. This made the acceleration time just a bit less impressive than the Limited. Although the Raptor is slower, it still has impressive speeds for a pickup truck.

According to Road and Track, the Raptor is able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 5.3 seconds and could travel a quarter of a mile in 14.1 seconds.

Another Ford truck with lightning-fast speed is the Ford F-150 SVT Lightning. First introduced back in 1999, it was equipped with a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine that produced 360 hp. The supercharged V8 was capable of going 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 5. 4 seconds. It could travel a quarter of a mile in 15.2 seconds, which made it slightly slower than the Raptor.

What’s new for the 2020 Ford F-150 Limited?

The 2020 Ford F-150 Limited will have the same twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine found in the current Raptor. Other than its stellar performance, the 2020 F-150 Limited has an incredible luxury interior.

The Supercab models feature a twin-panel moonroof and a fully flat load floor, which makes it easier to haul cargo inside of the cab. The leather-wrapped upholstery and genuine wood trim also add a whole new level of style and comfort to the truck’s inside.

The Limited comes with several other features, like a curve-control system, a rearview camera with a dynamic hitch assist, and a blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alerts to give you added peace of mind.
