Drivers and consumers have a lot to think about when purchasing or investing in a new car. Recently, many people have been talking about the 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Many drivers and consumers may be surprised to learn the origin of how the model received its name.

As explained by Good Car Bad Car, “the name Stelvio derives from the Stelvio Pass, Italy’s highest mountain pass, noted for its 48 circuitous switchbacks.” The SUV’s creativity and sleekness are noted from all angels and with every included feature. However, now people are beginning to wonder if the car’s name lives up the actual model.

Take a closer look at some of the pros and cons of the 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio and what it means for sales.

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio’s powerful engine and luxurious looks make this model ideal for many drivers. When it comes to luxury compact SUVs, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio is an attractive choice amongst drivers. The model received remarkable scores in terms of how the vehicle rides and the level of noise it generates within the cabin.

The 280-hp turbocharged engine is just one of the many impressive features of the Stelvio. Braking tests showed the vehicle’s remarkable ability to perform in this area. More than half of consumers reported they would purchase the model again. Overall, the 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio has proven to have a pretty good reputation on the market.

What are some of the cons of the 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio?

Consumers and drivers were excited to see the release of the new 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, but it was disappointing to learn the model did include some flaws. No vehicle is perfect, but it is most certainly nice to try. The interior quality and comfort level of the vehicle was a let down for drivers. Many thought the cargo space was surprisingly small and were not a fan of the materials selected for so much of the interior design.

Unfortunately, the Stelvio’s fuel economy proved to be another discouraging aspect of the model. Consumer Reports gave the vehicle a relatively low score when evaluating the car’s abilities to travel in different environments. Though the 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio brought many positive things to the table, it also proved to be more flawed than drivers and consumers hoped for. Overall, the cons are something consumers will definitely want to think about before purchasing a Stelvio.

What’s going on with sales?

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio debuted in 2016 and was officially launched in 2018. In 2018, the Stelvio’s sales had reached an all-time high, however, shortly after, the sales started to showcase a steady decrease. With that being said, the sales of the 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio seem to be following the recent trend of declining sales. Even though the Stelvio embodies many impressive features for a luxury compact SUV, it’s flaws create very underwhelming results.

When evaluating a new vehicle, there are many different elements and aspects that come into play. For the 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, the sales don’t seem to align with all of its impressive features. However, when looking at the vehicle as a whole, it becomes clear that the cons are a clear obstacle in place of the new model.
