This system allows drivers to access an impressive array of connectivity and convenience features that improve driving and connecting. One such feature is the over-the-air updates, which can upgrade the software of the Grand Highlander while on the go.

Awaken the connectivity system by simply saying “Hey Toyota” like you would to Google or Alexa. This simple phrase opens the system through voice commands, making it easy for you to use the:

The Grand Highlander features the new Toyota Audi Multimedia system. This system allows dual Bluetooth connectivity while supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As expected, this new Toyota SUV also features a Wi-Fi hotspot with a one-month trial and support for up to five devices.

How much bigger is the Grand Highlander than the Highlander?

The new 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is larger than the regular Highlander. Road & Track tells us this new model is 6.5 inches longer, 2.3 inches wider, two inches taller, and has four extra inches of wheelbase. This brings the total to nearly 116 inches. This puts the Grand Highlander in a position between the full-size Sequoia and the regular Highlander in the Toyota SUV lineup.

Three powertrains add to the qualities of this new Toyota midsize SUV

The Grand Highlander is larger than most midsize SUVs; but should bring better fuel mileage than most models in its class. Three powertrains give this new SUV plenty of performance and efficiency.

The base powertrain is shared with the regular Highlander and is a 2.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine attached to an 8-speed automatic transmission. This model delivers 265 horsepower and can be had with either FWD or AWD.

The base Grand Highlander Hybrid also uses a regular Highlander powertrain from the hybrid version. This system has a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and two electric motors delivering 243 horsepower.

The top powertrain is a new Hybrid Max with a turbocharged 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with an electric motor to offer 362 horsepower. This top powertrain should allow this new SUV to reach 60 mph in 6.3 seconds and tow up to 5,000 pounds.
