Is the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid worth buying? 

Yes, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is a great option to consider. According to Automotive World, the Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid models feature a fun to drive performance that’s combined with an excellent economy instead of purely focusing on efficiency with the compromise of driver engagement like competitors.

The Hybrid powertrain has a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 180 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a 44.2 kW electric motor and 1.49 kWh battery pack to provide an estimated 226 hp combined and 258 lb-ft of torque. 

It’s about 30-percent more fuel-efficient than the standard gasoline engine with 20-percent more torque to make daily driving more fun and convenient. You should be able to travel up to about 500 miles before needing to refuel. 

How far can the Hyundai Tucson PHEV go? 

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson PHEV features a high-output 1.6-liter turbocharged, direct-injected hybrid powertrain that’s paired with a larger battery that provides 13.8 kWh of power. It provides an estimated all-electric range of 30 miles with an estimated fuel economy of over 70 MPGe. 

With a level-2 charging system, it takes about two hours to recharge fully. It includes a 7.2kW onboard charger. Both the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid and PHEV use a six-speed automatic transmission for a smooth, sporty, and quiet performance. 

The hybrid models also come standard with HTRAC all-wheel-drive capability to handle more challenging terrains and adverse weather conditions such as snow. They have been tuned at off-roading, proving grounds to maximize forward traction capabilities. 

Plus, the Hybrid Tucson models feature Hyundai’s e-handling technology to provide sporty handling and enhanced ride comfort. The electric motor torque control is precisely applied to dynamic inputs had road conditions for optimal corning performance. 

Hyundai Tucson Hybrid features 

According to Car and Driver, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid begins at about $30,235, and pricing for the Plug-in Hybrid hasn’t been released yet. The interior features a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

There is also a 10.25-inch hoodless digital gauge cluster, multi-air ventilation, remate start with heated and ventilated seats, remote park assist, and Hyundai Digitial Key.

The Digital Kay app allows smartphones to control selected vehicle systems remotely. You can lock the doors, unlock them, and allow others to operate the vehicle without the traditional keys.

Tons of safety features come standard, too, including forward collision avoidance assistance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, driver attention warning, lane-keeping assistance, and more. Optional features include blind-spot collision avoidance, smart cruise control with stop and go, and much more. 

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson features a bold new look with an updated interior that provides a premium feel. It’s a bit larger than the previous model to provide more cargo and passenger space too.
