If you’re shopping for a new car that offers longevity, you’ll probably put a factory warranty near the top of your wish list. Although it may seem like an added cost, a robust factory warranty can protect you against significant expenses during your first years of car ownership. TrueCar recently compiled a list of the best sedans based on their basic car warranties. And when it came to the top spot on the list? TrueCar tapped the 2022 Hyundai Sonata as the best sedan with a basic warranty of over four years.

The 2022 Hyundai Sonata comes standard with what Hyundai likes to call “America’s Best Warranty.” This warranty is standard on all new Hyundai models. It includes a 10-Year/100,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty, a 5-Year/60,000-Mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty, and a 7-Year/Unlimited Miles Anti-Perforation Warranty. It also includes 5-Years/Unlimited Miles of 24-Hour Roadside Assistance.

The Hyundai Sonata also comes standard with parts, accessories, and emissions warranty coverage. This includes a 12-Month/12,000-Mile Replacement Parts and Accessories Limited Warranty, and an 8-Year/80,000-Mile Federal Emission Defect and Performance Warranty. It also includes a 7-Year/70,000-Mile California Emissions Control Systems Warranty. And if you buy a Hyundai Sonata Hybrid? You can expect it to come standard with a 10-Year/100,000-Mile Hybrid/Electric Battery & Hybrid System Components Warranty.

A class-leading warranty isn’t all the new Sonata has going for it

The 2022 Hyundai Sonata was able to top TrueCar’s list for more reasons than one. While it comes standard with a class-leading warranty, that’s not all the new sedan has going for it. In fact, TrueCar highlighted several other pros to choosing the 2022 Hyundai Sonata. First, according to TrueCar, the 2022 Hyundai Sonata boasts an “excellent variety of offerings.”

TrueCar isn’t wrong, either. This year’s new model is available in several trims, including SE, SEL, SEL Plus, N Line, Limited, and N Line Night. This year’s new Hyundai Sonata is also available as a hybrid car. Opt for the hybrid version of this year’s Sonata, and, according to the EPA, you can expect it to deliver an EPA-estimated 45 mpg in the city and 51 mpg on the highway.

With nine trim levels to choose from, this distinctively-styled five-seater midsize sedan begins with an MSRP just north of $25,000, with fully-optioned models with the 290-horsepower engine fetching up to $35,000. The most popular SEL trim starts at $27,345 and offers 27 mpg city and 37 mpg highway along with a load of intuitive tech features.

Is the Hyundai Sonata a good car?

Yes, the Hyundai Sonata is a good car. It’s a new car that starts under $30,000 and comes standard with an extensive warranty. Not to mention, the 2022 Hyundai Sonata is available in several trim levels. If you’re shopping for a sedan with a basic warranty of over four years, it’s hard to deny all that the 2022 Hyundai Sonata has to offer.
