Is the 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor worth buying? 

Yes, if you’re on a budget but want to tackle the wilderness, the 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor is an excellent option to consider. According to Pickup Trucks, this could be the most capable Ford Ranger model in the United States. 

However, they also mentioned that the Ford Ranger Raptor isn’t coming here soon. They noted that it could be years away after the Ranger receives a full redesign. But we disagree. Some rumors show that it could arrive in 2022.

But to get back on topic, the Ford Ranger Tremor is a great deal. You can add the Tremor Package to the XLT 4×4 Crew Cab, which starts at about $35,940 for $4,290. This includes the destination fee. However, you have to select the XLT Equipment Package 301A, too, for $1,670. So, this off-roading beast can be yours for only $43,680. 

The Jeep Gladiator Rubicon begins around $43,895, and the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro begins around $44,175 before dealership fees and markups have been added. So, it’s possible to save thousands with the Ranger. 

What does the Ranger Tremor Off-Road Package include? 

The 2021 Ford Ranger Tremort Off-Road Package comes with a 1-inch lift, Fox 2.0 shocks with piggyback remote reservoirs, tow hooks, electronically locking rear differential, reworked front coil-over springs, mild fender flares, and 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 32-inch Continental General Grabber all-terrain tires. 

These tires are excellent for providing grip in snowy, icy, muddy, and rocky conditions. Plus, the electronic Terrain Management System has driving modes to adjust the throttle, tractions, control, stability control, and more to provide the optimal settings for your surroundings. 

The XLT Equipment Package 301A adds grey bumpers and wheels, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, the reverse sensing system, a 110-volt outlet, and more. These additions all make the Ranger Tremor more capable than the FX4. 

How does the Ranger Tremor perform? 

There was plenty of snow for the 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor to play in. It managed to have tons of stability and control without getting stuck. Driving with the sand mode on was also tons of fun. It feels like it could take the Baja 1000 with ease.

The Fox 2.0 shocks with remote reservoirs do an excellent job at absorbing bumps for a smooth ride. Especially when compared to the Jeep Gladiator and Toyota Tacoma, that feel a little stiffer. Plus, this kit doesn’t reduce capability. The Ranger Tremor can carry a payload of up to 1,430 lb and tow up to 7,500 lb. 

You don’t get a locking front differential, full-time four-wheel drive, or electronically disconnecting sway bars to enhance suspension travel. But the chances are that you don’t need that stuff. You can save with the perfectly capable Ranger Tremor instead.
