The 2021 Ford F-150 is Disappointing

After one long wait, the 2021 Ford F-150 has finally been revealed, and there are a few disappointing features that shouldn’t be ignored. After one long wait, the 2021 Ford F-150 has finally been revealed, and there are a few disappointing features that shouldn’t be ignored. Maybe the new Ford F-150 seems a little rushed, and after the 2020 model has had so many recalls already, we’re nervous about betting on the 2021 model.

The 2021 Ford F-150 Is Disappointing

The first let down includes the way that the 2021 Ford F-150 looks. It’s that same old look that’s been around since 2014 with updated headlights and taillights. Only now bright LED lights frame the headlights. Many people have already joked that the Ford F-150 that’s already known for being too bright will bow be even more blinding.

The Ram 1500 and Chevy Silverado has already received new looks, but only the Ram 1500 looks better. So, why is Ford delaying a brand new look for the Ford F-150? Also, the interior isn’t anything to brag about.

However, the 2021 Ford F-150 did receive a brand new interior design, but it’s not that great. The design looks pretty old and outdated. We do like the two-tone color design and soft-touch leather materials, but they are mixed in with lots of cheap plastic materials.

There is a new available 12″ infotainment center, but there is no word about which infotainment center will come standard yet. Also, the touchscreen is framed with a tacky silver color.

2021 Ford F-150 Power

The same engines used in the 2020 Ford F-150 are being carried over to the 2021 model. But the new hybrid Ford F-150 will have a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine.

Ford is already boasting the best in class towing and payload capabilities, but so far, we see that it can tow between 8,000 to 12,000 lb. The 2020 Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,750 lb, and the Chevy Silverado 1500 can tow up to 13,400 lb.

The 2021 Ford F-150 has a tailgate that serves as a work surface. But who hasn’t used a tailgate as a work surface for tools before? That’s not a new innovative feature, while rivals have multi-functional tailgates.

While the horsepower and lb-ft of torque haven’t been released for the engines yet, Ford has mentioned that the muscle will be relatively the same. So don’t expect an increase in power or a better fuel economy, unless you go with the hybrid version. Also, it’s way too early to be excited for the electric Ford truck, because it’s not expected to come out for about two years.

2021 Ford F-150 Tech

Ford Chief Operator Officer, Jim Farley, claimed that the 2021 Ford F-150 will come with new tech features that people are more than willing to pay for. That’s nerve-racking because that means prices are going up.

With the base model price of the 2020 Ford F-150 starting at $28k and lacking standard features such as an infotainment center, who knows how much this new tech will cost. The 2021 Ford F-150 is expected to range in price from $30k to $70k.

So far, only a limited amount of tech information has been released. The front and passenger seats fold flat, the infotainment center will receive over the air updates, and there is an optional power generator for the truck’s bed.
