The Kia Telluride came in fresh for the 2020 model year and everyone was impressed from the start. Not just offering a variety of features at a reasonable price, the 2020 Kia Telluride is designed to offer families spaciousness, safety, and comfort. The 2020 Kia Telluride even managed to use those top-notch qualities to avoid one of the most common mistakes made by almost every large SUV before it.

How the Kia Telluride out-does other large SUVs in one easy way

When the Kia Telluride debuted, many immediately saw Kia’s signature look in its design. Although it is the largest SUV Kia has ever tried, the brand managed to do everything it’s always been able to do in smaller vehicles and everything a large SUV has never been able to. The Telluride’s overall design and shape is square-like, but Kia wanted the three-row SUV to be as open and spacious as possible.

This means that the Kia Telluride comes with astonishingly big greenhouse windows that span around the entire SUV. Not just adding to the Telluride’s spacious and open feel, these giant windows also help to provide impressive outward visibility.

Unlike many large SUVs, whose visibility is typically hindered by its large and bulky size, Kia’s three-row SUV is easy to drive, park, and maneuver. Its large windows are also paired with slim windshield pillars, an extra-large back window, and even raised mountings in the back rows for better visibility. Kia managed to make a spacious, comfortable, three-row SUV, while at the same time avoiding visibility mistakes every large SUV made before it.

Good visibility is just the beginning of ways the Kia Telluride is keeping families safe

The Kia Telluride’s large windows and slim pillars add to its spaciousness and comfort, but also its overall safety. With better visibility than most large SUVs, it is easier to manage, maneuver, and park. With better views all around for drivers and passengers, the Kia Telluride makes it easier to stay safe. And just like every other Kia in the lineup, it’s designed from head-to-toe to keep families safe.

The 2020 Kia Telluride managed to earn the IIHS’ (Insurance Institute on Highway Safety) Top Safety Pick for 2020, scoring near-perfect in all crash testing categories. Its high scoring is also aided by the its long-list of safety features and tech. According to Car and Driver, the 2020 Kia Telluride’s “bellyful of standard safety tech will threaten even its most polished competition,” with standard advanced safety features included on every trim.

In addition to great visibility, it also features standard forward-collision warning, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking (with pedestrian detection), and rear-cross traffic alert.

There is also a standard rearview camera, as well as a driver-attention monitoring system and safe-exit assist, which alerts passengers if it is unsafe to open the doors. Available features on the 2020 Kia Telluride include blind-spot monitoring, rain-sensing windshield wipers, automatic high beams, and a surround-view parking camera.

Family hauling at a great value

The 2020 Kia Telluride has a starting price of just over $30,000 and is available in four trim levels. According to U.S. News, the Telluride earns up to 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway (depending on trim level), comes with a spacious interior for passengers and cargo, and a long list of standard features. The cabin is not only comfortable for up to eight passengers, but also includes quality materials, soft touches, and a standard, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

All models come with a 291-hp, 3.8-liter V6 engine that’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
