The Hyundai Palisade is fresh for the 2020 model year, adding a brand-new, three-row SUV to the brand’s expanding lineup. As a direct competitor in the ever-growing SUV segment, the 2020 Palisade boasts space and style, at a bargain the brand always manages to guarantee. In fact, the 2020 Hyundai Palisade could be the best and cheapest way to haul your family of seven or eight.

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade is a cheap way to get a third-row

Third-row family haulers are more popular than ever, but typically when more room for passengers is added, buyers will be paying for it. As more and more brands focus on SUVs, however, it’s become cheaper than ever to haul seven passengers. U.S. News recently compiled a list of the “Cheapest 7-Passenger SUVs for 2020,” and 13 midsize and large SUVs made the cut. According to U.S. News’ research, the 2020 Hyundai Palisade’s starting price makes it one of the cheapest seven-passenger SUV on the list.

With a starting price of around $31,000, the 2020 Hyundai Palisade isn’t technically the cheapest seven-seater on the list. In fact, rivals like the GMC Acadia and Honda Pilot start around $29,000 and $21,000, respectively. The Palisade’s price is not just competitively close to those, but it’s incredibly cheaper than other options that made it on U.S. News’ list. And when you consider what the Hyundai Palisade offers buyers, it may just be the best cheap SUV you can get.

It’s cheap, but how good is it?

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade isn’t the cheapest SUV you can get, but it sure is pretty close. And as we all know, in the world of vehicles, cheap doesn’t always guarantee good value. This isn’t the case for the Hyundai Palisade, however, which leads the way in value and also expert ratings.

In fact, the Palisade receives the highest ratings of any vehicle on U.S. News’ “Cheapest 7-Passenger SUVs for 2020” list. U.S. News experts give the 2020 Hyundai Palisade an impressive overall score of 8.4/10, catapulting it into the top of the segment.

The 2020 Palisade ties both the Ford Expedition and Kia Telluride for the No. 1 spot on U.S. News’ “Best SUVs with 3 Rows for 2020” list out of 26 total vehicles. Out of these three top-rated SUVs, however, the Hyundai Palisade is also the cheapest.

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade’s rating also lands it No. 2 on the “Midsize SUVs” list and No. 5 in “Crossover SUVs.” The Palisade even landed a spot as a finalist in U.S. News’ “2020 Best 3-Row SUV for Families” award. It may be safe to say that the 2020 Palisade is the three-row SUV that offers the best value.

The best features of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade came in hot for its debut year, boasting the long list of features and affordability Hyundai is known for. Even Car and Driver experts call the 2020 Palisade the brand’s “best and biggest” three-row SUV, stating that “with the Palisade, you get more for your hard-earned bucks.” It features three rows of comfortable seating and massive cargo space, combined with luxury-like interior features, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, and a long list of standard safety features.

Seating for eight comes standard in lower trim Palisade models, while the higher Limited trim receives seating for seven with second-row captain’s chairs. A 3.8-liter V6 engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission come standard, delivering a smooth and potent ride. Although standard features and base-trim Palisades are certainly enough for any buyer, the Hyundai Palisade also features a variety of additional options and features like all-wheel drive, a head-up display, leather seats, and more.
