The 2020 Cadillac Escalade ESV Has an Outrageous Amount of Cargo Space

When it comes to luxury vehicles, you’re paying for high-quality materials, superior design, and tech features. Large luxury SUVs cost more based on their size but also because when consumers decide they need a certain amount of cargo and passenger space, they’ll find a way to pay for it. If money for your next big SUV isn’t an object, and you want a vehicle with an abundance of space, we might know exactly what you’re looking for. The 2020 Cadillac Escalade ESV is at the top of the U.S. News list of Luxury SUVs with the Most Cargo Space. How much space are we talking about?

An incredible amount of cargo space in the Cadillac Escalade ESV

The 2020 Cadillac Escalade ESV has an outrageous amount of cargo space. The ESV is the long-wheelbase model of the popular American SUV. Its longer body gives you 25 extra cubic feet of cargo space than the standard Escalade for a total of 120.9 cubic feet.

There are 39.3 cubic feet of space for the cargo hold behind the third row of seats in the standard Escalade. With the third row folded down, you have 76.7 cubic feet of space. With both the second and third rows folded down, you get a total of 120.9 cubic feet of storage space.

The two back rows of seats make the space easy to access and customize as they are power-folding.

The ESV model gives you even more space. There are 41.5 cubic feet of space behind the third row of seats in ESV models. With the third row down, you get 94.1 cubic feet and 142.8 cubic feet with both rows of seats down. The cargo space found in ESV models is quite a bit more than the rest of the class.

What can you store back there?

With so much cargo space in the back of the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, what can you put in that space?

You have plenty of space behind the third row of seats to stow suitcases for weekend or business trips. There’s room for camping gear and folding lawn chairs for tailgates and other outside gatherings. If you need to take boxes of clothes or household items to donate to charity, you can do that too.

With the third row of seats down you can store small furniture pieces in the back of your SUV along with coolers and big storage boxes.

What could you store if you put both back rows of seats down? Christmas trees, large dog crates, large furniture pieces, and more. There’s a lot you could store in the back of the Escalade and Escalade ESV. Just ask yourself in the case of landscaping timbers or sappy Christmas trees if you should.

If you’re really interested in the 2020 Cadillac Escalade ESV now that you know about all that cargo and passenger space, let’s take a look at the rest of it.

With its truck-based origins, the Escalade ESV has a potent V8 engine and a towing capacity of 8,300 pounds. Those same origins keep it from offering a ride that’s as refined as some of its peers. But the cabin is quiet, you have three rows of seats that seat up to eight passengers, and it’s very comfortable in there.

The ESV has an impressive list of standard features, according to U.S. News. You get an adaptive suspension, front and rear parking sensors, 20 inch-wheels, LED headlights, a hands-free liftgate, remote start, and an automatic parking system. The interior features tri-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable pedals, leather upholstery, and a heated, power-adjustable steering wheel. You also get power-folding back seats, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats.

You also get some tech goodies standard like an 8-inch touchscreen, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a navigation system, and a surround-view camera system. There’s also a Bose 16-speaker audio system with satellite radio, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, five USB ports, and a wireless charging pad.

A large luxury SUV, the 2020 Cadillac Escalade ESV has a lot to offer. It’s cumbersome enough to make some maneuvers a little tricky. But if you want a comfortable, upscale vehicle that can move up to eight people and all their stuff, it might be the SUV for you.
