The newly released Cadillac CT6-V has all of the luxury of a high-end Cadillac, all of the practicality of a sedan, and under the hood you’d never suspect that it has a powerful V8 engine. With a starting price of almost $95,000, does the 2020 CT6-V offer enough to justify the price?

On the side of luxury

The interior of the car is lined with high-quality materials, high-end technology, and a plethora of features to keep you safe and entertained on the road.

The CT6-V is a true four-door sedan with back seats big enough for grown adults or car seats, and front seats that are spacious and comfortable enough to feel like you’re lounging in a La-Z Boy couch.

Along with the leather interior, you will see glossy carbon fiber details on the dashboard, door panels, and steering wheel, a perfect mixture of sporty detailing to pair with the car’s high-end luxury. A large touchscreen infotainment system paired with a heads-up display gives this car all of the fun techs you could want and seamlessly integrates the design to make it simple yet elegant.

With the power and performance to match

It may not have the sporty appearance of a mid-engine C8 Corvette, but this underrated full-sized sedan is a sleeper car, and under its hood is a powerful V8 engine that offers just as much performance it does luxury.

The V8 engine has 4.2L of displacement and paired with a twin-turbocharged setup produced 550hp and as much as 640 lb-ft of torque. Those numbers sound cool, but what does that mean for how the car actually performs?

Luckily for us there are more standard measurements for performance than just numbers. For example, the CT6-V can go from a complete stop to 60mph in 3.8 seconds, which is pretty impressive and probably quicker than you’ll ever really want to accelerate in traffic. Even better, the CT6-V has a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds, which isn’t the fastest sports car on the market, but that does make it fast for a heavier, full-sized sedan.

The all-wheel-drive CT6-V gives this car instant torque and makes it fun to drive fast in any weather condition. You can truly feel the power delivered to each wheel as you take the car down the highway or accelerate from a stop. The luxury suspension is hard enough to maintain a sporty driving experience but soft enough that it won’t feel like you’re careening down the interstate in a go-kart. The cabin is well-insulated from road noise, and you’ll be so comfortable you’re likely to find yourself speeding on accident.

The 2020 Cadillac CT6-V is a true competitor in the high-end luxury sedan market and is priced to compete well with other V8-toting sedans of the year. Paired with seamless tech integration and a beautiful interior, this new flagship car seems to have something for everyone.
