Is the 2018 Toyota RAV4 A Good SUV? 

Yes, the 2018 Toyota RAV4 is a pretty great option. Depending on your area, you can find a used 2018 Toyota RAV4 for between $18k to $24k, depending on what trim level it is, and how many miles it has.

Currently, the 2020 Toyota RAV4 starts around $25k, and the highest trim option quickly climbs in price to over $34k, so you could save thousands with a higher trim level of the 2018 model for more comfort and features.

The 2017 Toyota RAV4 is also an excellent option to buy, but the 2018 model has a fresh new look and incorporates new off-roading features. It would be a shame to miss out on the more capable model. The 2018 model also gained more towing power compared to previous models. 

2018 Toyota RAV4 performance 

The 2018 Toyota RAV4 comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that cranks out 176 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. It can tow up to 3,500 lb. It gets up to 23 mpg in the city and up to 30 mph on the highway, which isn’t bad. 

The 2020 Toyota RAV4 has up to 203 horsepower, but can still only tow up to 3,500 lb. It gets up to 26 mpg in the city and up to 35 mpg on the highway. Aside from a slightly faster acceleration and better fuel economy, the 2020 model doesn’t have that many powerful upgrades. 

According to Kelly Blue Book, the 2018 Toyota RAV4 has great off-roading additions. Aside from being available in all-wheel-drive, the 2018 model got a taller ride height with a ground clearance of 6.1”.

Along with hill-start control, and off-roading drive modes, the 2018 Toyota RAV$ has proven its ability to perform in snow, ice, mud, and gravel. While it’s not a true off-roader, it will get you to the cabin or trailhead. 

2018 Toyota RAV4 Features 

The 2018 Toyota RAV4 isn’t too far behind on technology. It doesn’t come with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, but it still has Bluetooth connectivity. Also, there are USB ports so that you can connect your phone or iPod. The 6.1” infotainment center offers a larger, easy to use screen as well.

In 2018, the Toyota RAV4 got a new interior, so it has a modern look with enhanced comfort compared to previous models. The front seats have lumbar support, the moonroof fills the cabin with natural light, and much more. 

Plus, for an older model, the Toyota RAV4 is safe! It comes with the Toyota safety sense package, which includes rear-cross traffic alerts, collision mitigation, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, and more. Other 2018 models don’t come with this much stuff.
