Texas DoorDash Driver Arrested for Delivering Food in a Stolen Car

When you order food delivery, you expect your driver to arrive in a reliable vehicle. What you probably don’t expect is for them to roll up in a stolen car. However, that is exactly what happened in Bellmead, Texas, leading to the arrest of a local delivery driver.

According to local police reports, a man is currently facing serious charges after allegedly using a stolen vehicle to complete his DoorDash deliveries.

The bizarre string of deliveries came to an abrupt end thanks to automated license plate reader. The stolen vehicle was first flagged by automated cameras positioned along Bellmead’s Lynnwood Boulevard.

After receiving the alert, a local Metro police officer successfully tracked the vehicle down to the intersection of Lynnwood and Harding Place. Instead of immediately pulling the car over, the officer watched the driver pull up to a residence.

The officer then watched as the suspect exited the stolen vehicle, walked up to the house, and casually placed a food delivery order on the customer’s doorstep.

The Driver Claims Innocence

Following the delivery, police moved in and apprehended the driver, who was later identified as Justin Lamont Wise.

When questioned by officers about the status of the vehicle, Wise claimed he had no idea the car was stolen. He told police that he had simply acquired the vehicle “from someone else” before using it to complete his delivery route.

Regardless of his explanation, Wise was taken into custody and is now facing charges related to the stolen vehicle.
