A sheriff in Tennessee thought he was stopping to save a damsel in distress. But it was all a trick as the woman climbed into the sheriff’s truck and fired his rifle. The incident led to the closing of an entire highway.
Tennessee woman gets in sheriff’s truck and fires rifle
Police officers shared that while the Crocket County Sheriff responded to the call, a young woman he was assisting climbed into the sheriff’s truck and fired his rifle.
Multiple departments were on the scene due to a family disturbance near McDonalds on Highway 88 in Bells, Tennessee.
According to WREG, Sheriff Troy Kylce was exiting his truck. Then a distressed woman climbed into the back and fired off a single round. This resulted in the brief closure of Highway 412 and traffic disruptions.
She was quickly taken into custody and police officers believe that she might be struggling with mental health challenges. The Sheriff’s office is happy to report that no one was injured. It is working with mental health professionals to ensure she receives proper support and care.
Their preliminary investigation found that the woman didn’t intend to impose a threat to the safety of law enforcement personnel or the public.
The Crocket County Sheriff’s Department shared that their priority is to facilitate the pathway toward recovery and assistance for the woman and her family.
However, I have questions. Where was the bullet discharged? Did it damage the truck or just fly out into an open space? Was the truck a Ford F-150 or Chevrolet Silverado police inceptor?
