Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) is an American automotive engineering company specializing in high-performance car modifications, primarily with engines and induction systems. Although Lingenfelter has worked with many companies, brands, and models over the years, it is most well-regarded for its work on General Motors (GM) vehicles with the Chevrolet sports cars and Chevy and GMC pickup trucks, as well as Dodge muscle cars.
Lingenfelter was founded in 1973 and was named after its founder, National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) driver John Lingenfelter. LPE has gained recognition from custom car orders, various automotive publications (including Car and Driver and Motor Trend) testing and reporting on its modifications, and for the “The Lingenfelter Collection”, a display of performance, muscle, and sports cars owned by the current owner of LPE, Ken Lingenfelter.
