kartcross
Kartcross, also known as crosskart, originated in the Nordic and southern countries of Europe. It began gaining traction in the 1980s in Sweden and continues to grow in popularity. There is even a Formula X Autocross that contains a class for the sport.
The karts are designed to resemble a cross between an Ariel Atom and an SCG Boot on the scale of a mini cooper. It has small dimensions, sturdy roll cages, and off-road capabilities. The setting for these races needs those off-road capabilities as they travel through forests or specially-prepped dirt tracks.
The races can be very intense. Fast and Speed sells fully-built kartcross racers with a top speed of 130 mph and a 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. The starting price for one of these fierce machines is about $35,000. One thing to keep in mind with these machines is they can e a workout to drive with their long flying jumps and manual steering. However, it’s a fun sport to watch if you ever get the chance.
