Grand Cherokee

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a midsize crossover SUV model with a unibody build produced and sold by the Jeep division of Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA)). The Grand Cherokee is sized and priced above the Jeep Cherokee compact SUV and below the upcoming Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer luxury SUVs.

Introduced as a replacement for the original run of Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models, the Jeep Grand Cherokee was first introduced in 1992. Development of the model had started under American Motors Corporation (AMC) but changed when Chrysler bought the company in 1987.

The fifth generation of the Jeep Grand Cherokee just debuted with its 2022 model year and is built on the platform used for the Alfa Romeo Stelvio luxury SUV. Alongside its standard build, the Grand Cherokee is also available in an extended-wheelbase variant (Grand Cherokee L) and as an upcoming PHEV (Grand Cherokee 4xe). The most common competitors of the Grand Cherokee include the Dodge Durango, the Ford Explorer, the GMC Acadia, the Honda Passport, and the Toyota 4Runner.

Pros: The Jeep Grand Cherokee midsize SUV has plenty of off-road and all-terrain driving chops in a modern and stylish build that also features plenty of trim levels and customization options. Additionally, its recent redesign adds plenty of standard safety technology.
Cons: The Grand Cherokee’s best features and top trim levels are wildly expensive, all-wheel drive is optional (unlike with the Wrangler), and its V8 engine option is thrilling but has abysmal fuel economy ratings.
