This is not how you want the cookie to crumble. A mom was helping her daughter prepare to sell Girl Scout cookies when her SUV was stolen. The thief got tons of cookies, an iPad, and the woman’s purse during their sweet escape.

An Arizona Girl Scout couldn’t sell cookies when her mom’s SUV was stolen

Claudia Larson was helping her daughter, Chloe set up to sell Girl Scout cookies near an Ulta in Arizona before the afternoon took a tragic turn.

Claudia noticed a man walking past her 2021 Genesis GV80 as they were unloading cookies, chairs, a table, and other items.

When they turned around, the SUV was gone. She thinks they were by the Ulta for about eight minutes before the incident occurred.

The stolen SUV was filled with dozens of boxes of cookies, a book bag, an iPad, and Claudia’s purse. Also, the thief threw her cell phone out of the window so it wouldn’t be tracked.

Chloe and her mom are glad that they didn’t bring their dogs this time. They still would have been inside the car when the thief stole it.

According to 12 News, Claudia and Chloe are hoping to have some of the stolen items returned. But it’s unclear if the police have any leads.

Girl Scout Troop 6388 has been trying to sell 9,000 boxes to earn a trip to Catalina Island. Chloe was close to selling 1,000 boxes, but now has less than a week left to meet her goal. About half of the boxes are gone now.

Claudia warns other drivers to turn off your car, take your keys out of it, and lock it, even if you’re quickly turning around.
