A Massachusetts driver felt the need for speed but didn’t safely manage his urges. He hit speeds of about 130 mph while trying to run from police officers with a BMW X5. Things ended in disaster as the driver lost control of his ride.

Massachusetts man reaches 130 mph in SUV during police chase

Massachusetts police officers were having a pretty boring shift until they spotted an SUV traveling at a high rate of speed around 4 AM.

A man in a white BMW X5 was clocked traveling at about 100 mph southbound on Route 24. When a state trooper initiated a traffic stop, the driver attempted to flee the scene.

He led a police chase while hitting speeds of roughly 130 mph. As you know speeding is quite dangerous and the driver and his passengers learned this the hard way.

The driver lost control of the white BMW and crashed in Taunton. State Troopers on the scene quickly secured the area. According to Boston, police officers performed first aid on five people in the vehicle until emergency responders could arrive.

Those involved in the crash were transported to local hospitals in stable conditions. There is an ongoing investigation into the incident and everyone involved may face charges.

The SUV occupants are lucky to be alive. High-speed crashes are often deadly. I’m assuming the driver and passengers were wearing their seatbelts because no one was ejected.

Charges for the driver may include evading police and reckless endangerment. If anyone passes away as a result of the incident then things will get much worse for the driver.
