Suspect fleeing car chase accidentally locks himself in a prison
Do you believe in fate? What about a higher power or some other form of karmic justice? If not, this story might change your mind. Or maybe it’ll just convince you of the infinite stupidity of certain people.
Vincent McKenzie decided to hold up a bakery in Agawam, Massachusetts. Why a bakery and not a bank like a normal criminal? I have no clue. Maybe he heard the owner had… a lot of dough.
At first he got away with it. He might’ve thought he was… on a roll. But a police officer heard the crime reported on the radio and spotted McKenzie racing away. So, the officer chased him down. Can you feel the tension rising?
Well, McKenzie took off too. The chase turned into a high-speed pursuit. He fled into neighboring Connecticut hoping the police would end the chase. You might say he kneaded to escape. But his plan was at best, half-baked.
Imagine his surprise when the police called ahead and continued chasing him into a second state. McKenzie had another trick in the oven, though. He pulled into a parking lot and ran into what looked like a shopping center. He certainly isn’t one to loaf around.
When McKenzie turned around, he found the automatic doors had locked behind him. At this point, it was pretty clear he was toast. He started to explore his hideout, and discovered he wasn’t in a shopping center at all—he’d fled straight into the lobby of a shiny new state prison.
Rotten luck? Or just the way the cookie crumbles?
