A recent study examined which cars retained value over the first few years of ownership, resulting in a high resale value. When Kelley Blue Book ranked all vehicles with the best resale value for 2023, the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek tied for spot nine. Data showed that the Crosstrek held onto 61.0% of its value over the first five years of ownership. Starting at $23,645, the Crosstrek fits many budgets and comes packed with technology and features. Additionally, this Subaru SUV is comfortable on the daily drive but is also pretty capable of the occasional off-road adventure.

All-wheel drive is standard for 2023, and the X-Mode feature is another generous standard addition. Adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and Automatic emergency braking also comes on all trim levels. Subaru’s rear-set reminder is another helpful feature that adds to the Crosstrek’s value. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek its Top Safety Pick award. From the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Crosstrek earned a five-star safety rating. These extras help make the Subaru SUV a class leader in resale value.

The 2023 Forester is another Subaru SUV with high resale value

The 2023 Subaru Forester is another option with a high resale value, coming in at 60.6%. Another Subaru SUV packed with safety features and a roomy cabin. Starting at $26,395 for this year and gets all-wheel drive standard. The Forester has a particularly large 51.2-inch liftgate opening that offers an extra-large entrance to the cargo area (that goes down to 49.5 inches at its lowest).

On top of that, the 2023 Subaru Forester gets X-MODE, Hill Descent Control, and 8.7 inches of ground clearance. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded this Subaru SUV its Top Safety Pick Plus award, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave it a five-star safety score.

Don’t overlook the 2023 Outback

Hanging out in the midsize SUV category, the 2023 Subaru Outback starts at $28,395. With a resale value of 57.8%, the Outback has plenty of reasons for drivers to like it. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are new, but standard all-wheel drive is still a significant addition. Subaru’s EyeSight suite of safety systems received an update for the Outback, which helped improve the headlights. Steering-responsive LED headlights come on the base trim, as do forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, and adaptive cruise control with lane centering.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2023 Outback a five-star safety rating, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety made it a Top Safety Pick Plus winner. Those are just a few reasons the Outback is another Subaru SUV with high resale value.
