It’s time for the smallest SUV in Subieville, the Subaru Crosstrek, to get a makeover. The cute SUV should gain a more confident look as Subaru works to beef things up across the entire lineup. So far, we like what we see for the new Subaru Crosstrek.

Finally, big things are on the way for the next generation Subaru Crosstrek. The smallest SUV in the lineup is receiving big love as the Crosstrek gets a new face and enhanced capabilities. According to Car and Driver, we will see the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek on September 15. 

That’s only a week away, but we still can’t wait. Plus, Subaru shared a few teasers to get our motors running. The images are primarily covered in darkness, but you can see a vehicle that’s similar to the Crosstrek. 

It could be a brand new SUV, but most critics think it’s the new Crosstrek. Plus, it could be the electric Crosstrek to provide people with another electric option aside from the Subaru Solterra. 

Either way, the LED headlights and grille have a new sleek design that matches other SUVs in the lineup. Plus, the taillights and rear hatch have a similar shape. 

What to expect with the 2024 Crosstrek 

The 2024 Crosstrek is expected to have a new look and a bigger footprint. It’s the best-selling model in America, and we like our space! However, it won’t grow larger than the Subaru Forester. 

Rumors suggest that the new Crosstrek will ride on the current Levorg Subaru Global Platform (SGP) with a new inner frame structure that’s installed on the WRX S4. It will provide extra space and enhances its safety ratings. 

The Crosstrek might not get extra power in America. It could use the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 152 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque. But you can upgrade to the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine for 182 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque. 

We would like to see a little more muscle, especially with the Subaru Crosstrek hybrid engine that only cranks out 148 hp. However, we could be surprised by new powertrain options. 

Also, the tiny but mighty Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness Edition is expected to come out. It would have a suspension lift, upgraded all-terrain tires, the enhanced X-MODE off-roading system, and a unique style. 

How much does the 2024 Crosstrek cost?

The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek price could start a little north of $23,645. That’s the MSRP of the 2023 model and doesn’t include the destination fee or dealership markups. If the next-generation Crosstrek doesn’t have more power, then the price may only increase by a few hundred bucks. 

Upgrading from the entry-level Outback to the Subaru Outback Wilderness model increases the price by about $10,000. That means the Crosstrek Wilderness could increase the price to about $33,000 or more. 

The official pricing hasn’t been released. This is just speculation. However, we might not have to wait much longer to learn more. Significant information will come out next week on Thursday, September 15.
