As you’d expect, that was by no means the end of this story.

How did this person steal a 2021 Dodge Charger Hellcat?

This stolen 2021 Dodge Charger Hellcat begins as several suspects broke into a dealership to steal various vehicles in Ohio. Since the suspects had expensive taste, all of the stolen vehicles turned out to be Hellcat models. Additionally, one of the suspects crashed immediately after stealing a Challenger Hellcat. If we had to guess, the 707-hp output from the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 had something to do with it.

However, one 2021 Dodge Charger Hellcat managed to get away and began a massive chase with Ohio police officers. At one point. Port Clinton News-Herald reports that the suspect hit a top speed of 175 mph. Since the Charger has a top speed of 203 mph, this seems very likely.

It won’t surprise you to learn that the 21-year-old suspect behind the theft of this 2021 Dodge Charger Hellcat eventually crashed. In a video posted by Port Clinton News-Herald, we see that the sedan lost control and ended up upside down in a ditch. As you’d expect, the responding officer went over to render aid to the injured passengers. However, as the responding officer tended to injuries, the driver went a step further.

The suspect then stole a police car

If you thought this 2021 Dodge Charger Hellcat couldn’t get any wilder, it truly does. After taking advantage of the distracted officer, the suspect ran into his police car and stole it. As you’d expect, the passenger was eventually arrested. However, the suspect didn’t manage to get very far with this second attempt. This is because the police car reportedly crashed less than a mile down the road. If we had to guess, following a major accident with more high-speed driving isn’t a recipe for success.

However, as the police cruiser crashed on the side of the road, a good samaritan stopped to help the injured suspect. According to the Port Clinton News-Herald, the suspect told the passerby that there was an injured officer in the police car. As you’d expect, the man went over to check on the potentially injured officer. By the time the man realized the police car was empty, it was already too late.

The suspect stole yet another vehicle

According to the Port Clinton News-Herald, the suspect then jumped into the good samaritan’s pickup truck and drove off. As you’d expect, the suspect managed to crash yet again, leaving them no option but to run away on foot. It boggles the mind how this suspect managed to walk away from three serious accidents in a single day.

After running, for some time, police caught up to the suspect and what was left of the 2021 Dodge Charger Hellcat. Unfortunately, the super-sedan is a complete wreck and cannot be recovered. On the bright-side, this suspect won’t be stealing any more cars in the near future.
