The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is undoubtedly one of the most powerful and expensive cars the brand currently produces. As a result, stealing one of these ultra-rare Lamborghinis is difficult, especially given how instantly recognizable they are.

Regardless, superspeedersRob on YouTube tells the story of a time when one of these $700,000 supercars got stolen by a group of thieves. After breaking into a home, the thieves managed to start the car and drive off into the distance. However, the car turned up in a very unusual place.

This stolen Lamborghini Aventador SVJ story began when a group of thieves decided to break into a home. From the video posted by superspeedersRob, we can clearly see a Mercedes-AMG G63 parked directly next to the SVJ. Around four in the morning, we see at least two intruders open the Lamborghini’s door. According to superspeedersRob, it is unclear whether the intruders had a copy of the car’s key.

Part of what makes this Lamborghini Aventador SVJ unusual is the ease with which the intruders managed to open up the car. It took around seven minutes from the point at which the thieves opened up the SVJ to when they started it. Additionally, superspeedersRob reports that the car’s owner was not awakened by the sound of the naturally aspirated V12.

Once the thieves fired up the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, they began reversing it toward the gate. Since the thieves jumped over it to get in, they had to find a way to open it to escape.

The thieves had to break down a gate

As the thieves inched the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ closer to the gate, more people appeared in the video. According to superspeedersRob, the additional people reportedly were there to break down the gate to escape with the car. The entire process took several minutes, with the SVJ idling in the driveway. Yet again, the owner in the house did not hear the sounds of their car. Eventually, the thieves managed to break down the gate, and the car sped off into the distance.

If this Lamborghini Aventador SVJ theft appears calculated, it certainly seems so from the video footage. Not only did the thieves have a sophisticated device to start the car, but they also brought enough people to destroy the gate. Unusually, no one even looked at the Mercedes-AMG sitting directly next to the supercar. However, this story gets even weirder.

The car turned up in a random garage

Despite stealing a bright Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, the thieves were able to escape successfully. On top of that, no one was able to find the car. According to The Yeshiva World, the stolen supercar turned up in the garage of a home that was undergoing construction. To make things even funnier, it wasn’t the police that found the car. Instead, an employee of a real estate development firm stumbled upon the car when looking for something else.

As a result, the person who found it called the police immediately, and the car eventually made its way back to the original owner. Additionally, it seems the car went through the entire ordeal without getting damaged. As you can imagine, selling or hiding a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is no easy feat. Thankfully, this one turned up before it could vanish forever.
