Stellantis Shames Influencers for Ripping Jeep Recon Interior Apart
I’m all for honest vehicle reviews. However, I’m with Stellantis on this one. Influencers filmed themselves ripping the interior of a Jeep Recon apart. They dumped on the quality of its build. However, like typical influencers, they missed one incredibly important aspect.
Stellantis shames influencers for pulling Jeep Recon interior apart
Two influencers have been publicly shamed by Stellantis for their actions at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show. Two content creators for The Middle Lanes posted a video about the interior quality of the Jeep Recon.
You can see them pull pieces off the center console. They point out gaps in the materials and laugh about how terrible the build quality is for a $65,000 vehicle.
It’s a bit aggressive as they call it unacceptable. Also, it quickly went viral, leading to tons of negative comments about Stellantis and Jeep SUVs.
However, Stellantis shared that this is a preproduction model and doesn’t represent the final production quality of the Jeep Recon.
The automaker shared that the vehicle in question is a preproduction show car, built exclusively for reveals and events to highlight the design and inspiration for the final production.
Prototypes are usually hand-built. They are not intended to demonstrate final production, durability, quality, or integrity of materials. Many critics claim that the influencers were destructive and unprofessional.
But where was a representative at the show? I’ve been to a few auto shows, and usually, there are signs telling you not to enter vehicles with representatives around to answer questions and keep an eye on things.
I climbed into a pre-production Chevy Silverado EV when I was overwhelmed and needed a break. Then a representative asked me to exit the truck and politely explained that it was supposed to be locked.
The influencers got ahead of themselves. This wasn’t a final production model that would be sent to journalists and influencers for honest reviews.
