Standard Safety Features You Get With the 2021 Jeep Renegade

The 2021 Jeep Renegade is one of the most affordable new SUVs on the market, and it comes with plenty of standard safety features that many buyers are looking for in a brand new vehicle. All of these standard safety features are available across all four of the available trim level options.

The 2021 Jeep Renegade is one of the most affordable options from the brand while still giving you enjoyable off-road capabilities. For buying a brand new Jeep, the affordable Renegade has a lot to offer, and while it isn’t perfect, it does offer a plethora of standard safety features that give the car the basics of what most buyers are looking for.

How much does the 2021 Jeep Renegade cost?

Some options in the Jeep lineup can cost a pretty penny, but the base model Jeep Renegade is rather affordable. You can expect to see sticker prices around the ballpark of $22,850 to start, and while you can upgrade to higher trim levels to get more features and even more power, the base model Renegade offers plenty and makes it just as good of an option as the higher-priced trim models.

Jeep Renegade standard safety features

The 2021 Jeep Renegade offers a lot at higher trim levels, but you won’t be disappointed with what comes standard, either. According to Edmunds, the list of standard safety equipment is far from short. It includes blind-spot monitoring paired with rear cross-traffic alerts, forward collision warning and emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist with lane departure warnings. Drivers looking to use the Renegade as a towing vehicle can also appreciate the underrated safety feature spread amongst all of the trim levels: trailer sway damping.

What else does the base model offer?

The base model 2021 Jeep Renegade, labeled as the Sport, offers more than just safety features. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes with smartphone pairing to integrate with both Apple and Android products, and with 6 surround sound speakers, you can enjoy your own rock concert on the way to work or let your kids listen to Baby Shark on repeat.

It shares the same engine option as a majority of the other Renegade trim levels. Under the hood sits a relatively unimpressive 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that only provides 180 hp. With a reported 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway — which, of course, can vary slightly depending on driving style and other factors — it doesn’t provide remarkable or impressive fuel economy, but it isn’t necessarily abysmal, either.

The 2021 Jeep Renegade might be one of the most affordable options in the lineup, but that doesn’t mean it has nothing to offer. Laden with basic safety features, the base model Sport option offers everything you are looking for from an SUV of this price range, making it a great bargain buy for the Jeep name.
