The Ford Bronco has been promised for years. In the meantime, Ford has steadily been teasing it here and there. The COVID-19 pandemic caused a bit of a delay in the Bronco plans, but schedules were adjusted. Now the Ford Bronco has been marching its way to a full reveal on Monday, July 13th. However, that has not stopped some sleuths from discovering a treasure trove of information and posting it on a popular Bronco forum.

Bronco6G is a fan forum that revolves around the Bronco. On Tuesday, a member of the forum posted what looked like source code from a Ford system. The forum’s members then discussed the breakdown of the code. In short, the validity of the information was initially called into question, but tidbits of it were compared to other Ford product codes, and greater acceptance has seemed to take hold since then. The end result is, it appears that some information seems plausibly related to the Bronco or Bronco Sport, or both.

The post was made Tuesday by user 72roadster. Since then, there are another 20 pages of comments that have sprung up in the message thread. Bronco trim levels

There are a few interesting things to point out from this information. There is mention of a First Edition. That hearkens back to the recent Toyota Supra Launch Edition, and the Jeep Gladiator Launch Editions. Those were low volume editions made only during the first year of production of the new models. If the information is true, then Ford may be trying to capitalize on the excitement of the Bronco rebirth with a special edition as well.

Interesting also, the theoretical trim levels have pretty outdoorsy names, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Bad Lands, and Wildtrak all sound intriguing. So does a Sasquatch towing package. These have trim and option package names have been teased on the official Ford Bronco Instagram page in the form of decals. This also seems to lend to the legitimacy of the information.

Information is not from Ford officials

It is important to note that this information did not come from an official Ford representative or Ford media channel. So, there is no certainty if any of this leak is related to the larger Bronco, the smaller Bronco Sport, or if both Broncos are at play in the same pool of data. All that can be determined is the there is an insatiable desire by some fans to keep digging further ahead of the actual reveal on Monday. Who can blame them, the build-up to the reveal has spanned a few years, and the teasers have only elevated the palpable excitement for the return of the off-road legend. True or not, this leak is amping up the excitement yet again.
