There are a lot of great sport utility vehicles that meet these needs, but three stand out. Here’s why you might be torn between the 2022 Acura MDX, the 2022 Infiniti QX60, and the 2022 Genesis GV80.

The 2022 Acura MDX is an all-around great SUV

The 2022 Acura MDX starts even its base model with nice features like a panoramic sunroof, simulated leather, and heated front seats, according to Edmunds. It also has updated technology like a 12.3-inch central display, a 9-speaker sound system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. In addition, the MDX has a wireless charging pad, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and USB ports in the first and second rows. The base model also comes with Acura’s suite of important safety features. 

The 2022 Acura MDX price starts at $49,195 for the base model. You’ll get a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 290 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque.

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 is loaded with features

Like the 2022 Acura MDX, the 2022 Infiniti QX60 is loaded with features. These include LED headlights, a panoramic moonroof, and a power liftgate. It also has leather seats in the front and second rows, as well as heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. In addition, the Infiniti QX comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 price starts at $49,045 for the PURE trim level, which is the base model QX60. This comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 295 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and comes with front-wheel-drive.

The 2022 Genesis GV80 is the most expensive

The 2022 Genesis GV80 2.5T is the most expensive of these three luxury SUV. Its price starts at $56,645, and it comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 300 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque. Like the MDX and the QX60, the 2022 Genesis GV80 is packed with features. It has 19-inch wheels, a power liftgate, and heated front seats with simulated leather upholstery.

There’s also a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with navigation, and a 12-speaker sound system that’s compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, it comes with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and a heated steering wheel. It also has a wireless device charger and a digital key.

2 of these luxury midsize SUVs are super safe

Unfortunately, only two of these luxury midsize SUVs are incredibly safe. The 2022 Acura MDX, 2022 and 2022 Genesis GV80 are Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick+ winners. To win the coveted Top Safety Pick+ award, a vehicle must have good crash test ratings in all major categories. It also has to have superior or advanced safety systems and acceptable or good headlights standard on all models.  

On the other hand, the 2022 Infiniti QX60 doesn’t win an award. It is worth noting that the Infiniti QX60 does have good test results in the crashworthiness categories, yet there are no headlight ratings and ultimately, the IIHS hasn’t given the QX60 any safety award.

If you’re in the market for a luxury midsize SUV, all three of these sport utility vehicles are good options. However, the 2022 Acura MDX and the 2022 Genesis GV80 are safety award winners, which may put them ahead of the 2022 Infiniti QX60 for the safety conscious. In addition, the MDX’s cheaper price may make it a more economical choice for those who don’t want to overspend on their next vehicle.
