Buying a car is a huge commitment, and it has the potential to cost thousands of dollars in repair and maintenance costs. However, many newer vehicles offer basic manufacturer’s warranties which can add a little peace of mind to your next car buying experience. Here are some of the best manufacturer warranties on the market for 2023, with an average five-year, 60,000-mile plan, like the Kia and Hyundai warranty standards.

  • Kia
  • Genesis
  • Mitsubishi
  • Jaguar

What coverage does the Hyundai warranty offer?

Hyundai offers a five-year, 60,000-mile warranty for its cars, including the popular Accent and Elantra. According to Hyundai USA, the marque’s warranty “covers repair or replacement of any component manufactured or originally installed by Hyundai that is defective in material or factory workmanship, under normal use and maintenance.” That’s pretty standard for automakers, but the five-year, 60,000-mile coverage is better than many other marques’ typical warranties.

For instance, the Hyundai warranty is two years and 24,000 miles over a 2022 Toyota Corolla’s warranty. Moreover, Hyundai is quick to point out that its New Vehicle Limited Warranty is more extended than Nissan and Honda’s coverage.

What does Kia factory warranty cover?

The Kia five-year, 60,000-mile warranty covers basic issues, not unlike Hyundai’s basic warranty. Moreover, Kia offers a 10-year, 100,000-mile drivetrain warranty akin to Hyundai. Compared to Toyota, Nissan, and Honda, Kia’s drivetrain warranty covers relevant equipment up to twice as long and 40,000 miles more. Even the marque’s sharpened sleeper sedan, the Kia Stinger, gets one of the best manufacturer warranties out there.

Does Genesis have the same warranty as Hyundai?

Genesis isn’t just owned by Hyundai; it offers the same warranty coverage as its parent company. Specifically, Genesis has a five-year, 60,000-mile basic warranty. Moreover, the G70 sedan has a 10-year, 100,000-mile drivetrain warranty, like Hyundai and Kia.

It’s not just the G70, either; the larger G80, G90, and Genesis’ electric options offer similar coverage. That’s good news for potential owners who want a luxury alternative to a Hyundai or Kia.

Does Mitsubishi have one of the best manufacturer warranties?

Mitsubishi offers a competitive basic warranty to Hyundai and Kia. Specifically, the Japanese marque offers a five-year, 60,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty to cover basic issues. However, Motor1 reports Mitsubishi covers navigation and audio systems with a three-year, 36,000-mile policy. Still, that basic warranty puts Mitsubishi’s new car coverage ahead of competition like Honda and Nissan.

Does Jaguar have one of the best manufacturer warranties for 2023?

Surprisingly, Jaguar has one of the best manufacturer’s warranties on the market. The British automaker was synonymous with electrical gremlins and a lack of reliability for many years. However, Repair Pal reports that modern Jaguars have average reliability scores, albeit with above-average repair costs. Still, it’s comforting to know that your handsome new Jaguar F-Type or F-Pace will pack a five-year, 60,000-mile warranty.

Interestingly, Jaguar offers a basic warranty with as much coverage as economy brands like Hyundai and Kia. Of course, a Jaguar trades the sensibility of a Hyundai Elantra for stone-cold looks and, in some cases, tire-shredding performance. Looking at you, F-Type R.

Still, it’s pretty interesting that a British luxury marque has one of the best manufacturer’s warranties on the market.
