If you’re looking for a three-row luxury SUV, you may have been checking out the 2020 model of the XT6. While it certainly is an impressive vehicle to buy, you might want to hold off just a bit. The new 2021 model promises to offer much more for your enjoyment for the least amount of money.

Cars.com shows you the new technology coming, such as the wireless smartphone features. They also list all the amenities coming to the newer model as standard and not as additional packages you’ll need to purchase. Here’s what you can expect for the 2021 Cadillac XT6.

How smartphone features are evolving in the XT6

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are rapidly growing popular in all types of vehicles nowadays. Almost every car, truck, or sports utility vehicle has them. Typically, you would need to use a USB cable to hook up your phone to the car’s infotainment system so you can access the features you want off your phone.

Those who use iPhones would use them to connect to the Apple CarPlay app on their car’s system to listen to music or use their favorite navigational app. The same goes for Android Auto, except that people with Android phones would connect to their favorite features on their phones.

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 SUV is one of the few to take this smartphone technology another step further into the future. They plan to use a wireless connection instead of drivers having to fumble around with a USB cord. This would help keep owners from getting distracted while they are driving.

What’s even more remarkable is that Cadillac decided to make this technology standard for its XT6 models. It’s not going to be part of any expensive package that you would need to additionally purchase.

What other standard features are coming for the 2021 model year?

The 2021 model promises to be impressive because Cadillac has plopped down quite a few standard features on their XT6 models. More than most other automakers would be comfortable giving out.

First off, they’re introducing a new trim level they’re calling Luxury. This will bring the XT6 to 3 choices of trim levels. The other two are the Sport trim and Premium Luxury.

With the XT6, you will find black faux-leather material for the upholstery, heated front seats, a power liftgate, aluminum interior trim, bright exterior trim, and 18-inch shiny silver wheels. Powering the XT6 is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 237 hp mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

What safety features will be standard in 2021?

There are tons of standard features coming for the 2021 model, but we haven’t covered them. There are still a good number of safety features that Cadillac plans to make the standard for their XT6 models as well as other SUV models in different lineups

These are usually only available in higher trim packages that would cost you more, not so with the XT6. You can expect automatic emergency braking combined with the forward collision warning feature.

You can also find lane-keeping assist combined with lane departure warning. There are also front and rear parking sensors to detect any objects in front of or behind the vehicle. This would include Cadillac’s automotive company’s rear-vision camera that would display what’s going on behind the vehicle on the rear-view mirror.

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 should do as Cadillac hopes it will, and that’s to provide a luxury SUV with the most amenities for the least amount of money.
