The Kia Telluride rules over the midsize SUV vehicle segment with an iron fist. Few midsize models have posed a real threat to the Telluride’s top-ranking position in recent years. That’s one of the many reasons why used Telluride models can be so expensive. Should you even bother buying a used Kia Telluride?

Some vehicles age so well that they actually appreciate with time because of a lack of supply. The demand for certain nameplates increases the value of older model years. The Kia Telluride is a relatively new nameplate that has caused quite the buzz in the industry in the last two years.

Recent Telluride model years have stirred the pot until the Telluride became the undisputed top dog in its vehicle segment. Other than its South Korean cousin, the Hyundai Palisade, the Telluride doesn’t have any real rival from a value standpoint.

Buying a used 2021 Kia Telluride over the new model hardly seems worth it. The oldest Telluride model year, the 2020 Telluride has a KBB fair purchase price of a whopping $34,408. So, should you buy a used Telluride model? Probably not.
