The 2022 GMC Yukon XL price starts at $53,295 for the base model SLE. There are three additional Yukon XL trim levels available, including the SLT for $60,095, the AT4 for $67,795, and the most expensive Denali, which costs $71,195. This is also the most popular Yukon XL trim level.

There are three available engine options for the 2022 GMC Yukon XL. These include a 5.3-liter V8 engine that makes 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. According to Edmunds, this is the standard engine on the SLE, SLT, and AT4. There is also a 6.2-liter that is capable of 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. This is optional on the Yukon XL AT4 and standard on the Yukon XL Denali. Finally, there is a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine optional on the SLE, SLT, and Denali, that is capable of 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Each of these engine options are matched to a 10-speed transmission. The AT4 comes standard with four-wheel drive, but it’s only optional on the other trim levels.

How much does the 2022 Ford Expedition Max cost?

The 2022 Ford Expedition Max price starts at $58,835. This is for the Expedition Max XLT. The Max length is available on all Expedition trim levels except for the base XL, according to Edmunds. This comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.

The next level up is the 2022 Ford Expedition Max Limited, and the price for this is $67,990. The Max King Ranch costs $78,510. The most expensive available Expedition Max is the Platinum, starting at $80,460. This has the same specs for its engine except that it is more powerful. The Expedition Max Limited engine can make up to 400 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque.

The GMC Yukon XL vs the Ford Expedition Max: which is better?

The 2022 GMC Yukon XL is definitely cheaper, but is it worth saving $5,000? Not according to Consumer Reports. The Yukon XL is ranked fifth out of seven tested large SUVs. While the 2022 Ford Expedition Max isn’t tested, the Ford Expedition is ranked number one.

Reliability is a major difference between these two large SUVs. The GMC Yukon XL has a predicted reliability rating of 1/5. The Ford Expedition has a predicted reliability rating of 3/5. While not great, it’s certainly better than the Yukon XL. It is worth noting that the Yukon XL has a better road test score, at a 75 to the Expedition’s 73.

If you’re in the market for a large SUV, you might love either of these SUVs. If you like to use statistics and ratings to help you make decisions, you’ll probably prefer the 2022 Ford Expedition. However, you might find that you love the Yukon XL instead.
