Shelby Is Making A Ford F-250 “Super Baja”
Though you might think of Shelby as the company that modifies Mustangs, it has been doing its thing with Ford trucks for years. Its latest is the tough-looking Super Baja. In many ways, it is way more over-the-top than the Raptor. Here’s why.
Shelby only intends to make 250 Super Baja F-250s. So limited edition is what you’re looking at. Needless to say, you won’t be seeing another one like it in the ‘hood. The goal of the Super Baja is to bring together excellent off-roading capabilities, best-in-class towing, and daily driver creature comforts. Here’s what you get from Shelby.
The Shelby Super Baja starts with the Ford F-250 Lariat Ultimate
It starts the Super Baja transformation with Ford’s F-250 Lariat Ultimate. This comes with a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 and 4×4 drivetrain. That starts off the Super Baja with 475 hp and 1,050 ft-lb of torque. With all of the goodies that Shelby adds to the package, it doesn’t mess with the engine.
Instead, lots of suspension upgrades are in order. That means Fox 2.5 front coil overs tied into adjustable reservoir shocks. In the rear are Fox 2.5 factory race shocks with those reservoir shocks. A BDS lift kit along with custom front radius arms, adjustable upper control arms, and Fox 2.0 dual steering stabilizer round out the front mods.

Shelby front and rear bumpers add more to the looks department. LEDs are part of their charm. A Ram-Air hood is included and it is functional. The grille has been shot with body color paint as are new fender flares. A custom chase rack is installed large enough to handle two spare tires and wheels.
Rolling stock is 37-inch BFG KM3 tires wrapped around custom 18-inch Shelby wheels. Along the side are XL power steps, rock gliders, and running lights, striping, Shelby badge kit, custom exhaust tips, and window tint.
The Super Baja interior has been customized with new leather seats
Back inside the interior has been customized with new leather seats and carbon fiber bits sprinkled around. On the dash are new stainless steel gauges and below them are billet go and stop pedals. Shelby America badges and Super Baja logs finish off inside.
The 2021 Shelby F-250 rings out at $125,805. That price includes everything including the F-250 truck Shelby starts with and all of the mods we just mentioned. We don’t know whether Shelby has plans for a 2022 Super Baja so this could be a one-year-only deal.
