You’re supposed to stay cheesy in Wisconsin! But one professional lost his cool. After stabbing a woman in her apartment, he led a police chase with his semi-truck. Then he wrecked over a bypass bridge and tried escaping on foot. 

Wisconsin semi-truck driver stabs woman and crashed over bridge 

Police officers in Wisconsin quickly responded to reports of a stabbing in an apartment. The incident occurred in the 11,000 block of Legal Avenue around 7:55 am. What a terrible way to wake up. 

When they arrived, they learned that the suspect fled the scene in a semi-truck. The alleged suspect was identified and spotted in his rig at a gas station in Gary, Indiana. 

Police officers from Indiana and from the Portage Police Department teamed up to apprehend the driver. However, he accelerated as they initiated a traffic stop. 

The driver led a brief police chase and tried to exit Interstate 94 into Portage when he crashed over the Willowcreek Bypass bridge. 

According to Fox 32 Chicago, the trucker wasn’t injured during the crash and wasn’t ready to give up. He tried to run away from the scene on foot but was quickly taken into custody. 

The 41-year-old woman who was stabbed was transported to Froedtert Hospital with life-threatening injuries. His current condition is unknown. Also, the investigation into this incident is ongoing. 

Charges haven’t been filed as of Sunday, June 15. But additional information surrounding the case hasn’t been released. It’s unclear what caused the altercation or if the man was operating under the influence.
