See Your Porsche Order Go Through The Assembly Line

Imagine ordering something that you are really excited about from Amazon. You know from the order what day it is expected to arrive. But, nowadays you can track the shipment with the delivery company too. So, basically, you can order your product, have it plucked from the shelves of a warehouse, and watch the package as it progresses to your home. Porsche is now doing the same thing for purchasers of the 911 model.

New Porsche digital service

If you are one of the people fortunate enough to order a 911, you now have another reason to look at the notifications on your phone. Porsche launched the  “Porsche Track Your Dream” digital service. The service now permits you to track your order from the assembly line to the transport company, and to then on to the dealer. Through the process, the company will update you as your car goes through fourteen milestones points. The service is already live.

What Porsche said

“Buying a Porsche is a special moment and one that should be as personal as possible, recognizing that placing the order and awaiting its delivery is part of the experience as anticipation builds. Porsche Track Your Dream allows our customers to trace every key stage of their new car as it leaves our home in Germany,” said Klaus Zellmer, President, and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA). “This service gives future owners a convenient way of staying up to date before they see their car for the first time here in the U.S.”

The fourteen milestone points,

“…include order creation, freeze point for vehicle changes, production updates, vessel departure from Germany, port entry into the U.S., dealership arrival, and more. Background information about each milestone is available while a countdown shows the progress in miles and days.”

Behind the scenes

The service even has a “Behind the Scenes” option. This allows you to check two cameras that monitor the assembly lines in Germany. Two more cameras will be added soon.

The “Track Your Dream” digital service is available for those ordering their new 911 sports cars from Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Switzerland, and the USA. The service will soon be expanded for other regions and other Porsche models.

People who ordered 911 models in the past already experienced great anticipation for the delivery of their vehicle. Now, the new “Porsche Track Your Dream” service is going to push that anticipation up another notch. Watching the order progress from one milestone to another and through the assembly line will be thrilling. Now purchasers get to track their special gift to themselves step by step until its delivery. It’s akin to young children watching Santa’s deliveries as they unfold on on Christmas Eve.
