Finally, you can save money with the affordable Ford F-150 Rattler trim. You can’t spell affordable without Ford, which seems like a coincidence. Anyways, the 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler adds off-roading equipment without breaking the bank.
How much does the 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler cost?
According to CNET, the 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler is expected to start under $40,000, providing an affordable full-size truck with stout off-roading upgrades. Currently, the 2022 F-150 base model starts at $31,685 with a $1,695 destination fee.
The 2022 F-150 Tremor has an MSRP of $52,235, and the Rattler is based on this trim, but it’s a bit cheaper. It’s like a standard-entry Tremor and includes parts from the FX4 Off-Road package. Adding the Ford FX4 package costs $1,005.
But to acquire the FX4 package, you have to go for the XL High Equipment Group, 4×4, the Regular Cab body style, and the 2.7-liter V6 engine. Reportedly, the Rattler won’t have these requirements.
What comes with the 2023 F-150 Rattler?
The 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler comes with a set of skid plates, off-road-tuned shocks, a rear electronic locking differential, 18-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, a dual exhaust, a black plastic grille, and hill descent control.
It comes with the 2.7-liter V6 engine with 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The Rattler is also available with the 5.0-liter V6 engine that provides 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade to the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine for 400 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque.
The F-150 Rattler is only available as a SuperCab or SuperCrew truck. The dual exhaust tips will produce a bold sound to set this truck apart. However, it will probably sound more like a roar than a hiss.
You’ll notice a Rattler badge on the fenders that are paired with a Rattler graphic on the side of the truck bed. It includes a unique snakeskin look. The interior features bronze accents and stitching.
The Ford FX4 package includes a lift, off-road-tuned Rancho shocks, monotube shocks in the rear, an electronically locking rear differential, skid plates, a shift on the fly 4×4 transfer case, hill descent control, rock crawl mode, and a tray-style floor liner.
Is the Ford Rattler worth waiting for?
You won’t have to wait long for the 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler. It should be available by the fall. Hopefully, more information about its price will be released soon. It seems like the FX4 package provides a little more with a reasonable price of $1,005.
If you don’t want to wait, you could order the 2022 Ford F-150 FX4 now. The Rattler could be worth waiting a few extra months if it has a significantly lower price. But what if it’s only a few hundred bucks cheaper?
The Ford XL is a zero-frills truck. So the Rattler may not feature as much tech, comfort, and convenience as trucks equipped with the FX4 package. But on the other hand, some people prefer a basic work truck compared to options fitted with modern amenities.
