All vehicles are getting more expensive, and as much as we might want to fight it, we must move the line of affordability to a higher price point than ever before. Heading into the 2023 model year, if you want truck capability and performance and want to spend less, it might be time to get creative. Here are some of the most affordable new pickup trucks that could meet your needs and keep you out of the exorbitant price levels we see in the pickup truck market.

You might make a few concessions to drive this Jeep truck, but the Gladiator offers a good starting price and plenty of capability. This truck might bring a hybrid 4xe model or a new V8 engine to give it more power and efficiency, but the base model should start at $37,375.

The Gladiator is available with the 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine which, delivers 442 lb-ft of torque and 260 horsepower, making it easy for you to tow up to 7,650 pounds on the road.

Once you have the Gladiator, adding a few accessories won’t cost too much. Of course, if this off-road-ready Jeep is too harsh on the roads, you have other options.

Typically, remaining previous year models come with discounts and rebates to help dealers move them off the lot. Money Inc. tells us you should find a base Work Truck model of the Silverado for about $34,845.

If the base version is underpowered, despite being one of the most affordable new pickup trucks, you can move up to higher trims and enjoy more power. This truck has three cab styles, four powertrains, and several trims. Which Silverado will you drive?

The latest Santa Cruz is comfortable and gives you the power to tow up to 5,000 pounds.

The Santa Cruz brings many features we find in the Hyundai Tucson, which it shares a platform with, giving you the tech and comfort you want in a small truck. Do you need a truck that does truck stuff every day? If not, the Santa Cruz could be the pickup you want to drive.
