RV models are often updated just like cars and trucks. That is why, like cars and trucks, there is an effort to recognize the best of the best in each category annually. We’ve recently covered the 2021 RV award winners for the Class A, Class B, and Class C motorhomes. We’ve also covered toy haulers, travel trailers, and some fifth-wheelers. Below, we will cover the winners of the luxury fifth-wheel category.

The awards are put together by our friends at RV News. For the 2021 luxury fifth-wheel category, the judges defined anything over a $60,000 MSRP as qualifying for the luxury category. But, the competition ended up being tight. So, they awarded the coveted “Luxury Fifth-Wheel of the Year” accolade to three models.

2021 Forest River Cardinal 390FBX

Right from the get-go, the judges felt luxury oozing from 2021 Cardinal 390FBX by Forest River. They commented,

“From the expansive master suite in the front to the seating for eight in the living area to the high-end kitchen touches in the rear, the 390FBX screams luxurious living at every turn.”

Their review goes on to take notice of a king bed with room to walk around. By itself, that is a great thing. There is also a master bathroom shower that has a glass door and dual-sink vanity. Other features of the RV include a kitchen with a four-door residential refrigerator, corner pantry, hardwood cabinets, stackable washer and dryer, and an outdoor kitchen.

The 2021 Riverstone Reserve 3850RK by Forest River includes “luxury residential appliances and an upgraded four-burner cooktop.” Also, the kitchen cabinetry in the RV is solid hardwood. The camper also has a living area that boasts a convertible workroom for those who work remotely, a fireplace, and theater seating. Praise was also showered on the bathroom, which was described as “the nicest overall look of all 2021 models reviewed.” Over in the bedroom, a king-size bed with washer and dryer prep, and a large closet can be found. Outside, a 190-watt solar panel is installed.

2021 Heartland RV Bighorn 3120RK

Panoramic windows, eight-foot tall slide-outs, and an open kitchen area are some of the call-outs for the 2021 Bighorn 3120RK fifth-wheel trailer. The kitchen includes an island and a stainless steel refrigerator, a three-burner cooktop, and a 30-inch microwave. Over in the living room, the decor flows into televisions that are mated to a surround sound system. There are also multiple fireplaces. In the bedroom section, consumers will find washer/dryer prep, a walk-in closet, deep drawers, and a king bed. The master is bath complete with tile and teak. Judges said the unit, “stands out with a roomy feel for people who may have never considered living full time in an RV.”

Luxury fifth-wheel trailers are not a joke. They are like mobile palaces on wheels. So, a lot has to be crammed into each unit to give that feel. Having said that, the Cardinal, Riverston Reserve, and the Bighorn garnered enough praise from the judges to rate them as the best of the best. They each provide that upscale feel in the fifth-wheel setting. Each model is therefore worthy of the attention of the shopper that is trying to decide which RV they are going to look at next in the luxury category. Happy travels and shopping!
