The ASICS Los Angeles Marathon is scheduled for March 8, 2026, bringing thousands of runners to the streets of LA. This obviously means a number of roads will be closed around the area. Below is your comprehensive guide to the road closures and parking restrictions.
General Closure and Parking Rules in LA
- Road closures will take place on a rolling basis starting at 3:00 AM and lasting until approximately 6:00 PM.
- All road closures along the course will be finalized by 6:00 AM.
- Vehicles are not permitted to cross the race course at any time.
- Freeways will remain open throughout the day, though specific ramps will be closed.
- Streets along the marathon course will be clearly marked with “No Parking” signs approximately 72 hours before the event.
- Please strictly adhere to “No Parking – Tow Away Zones,” as violators will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
- The reopening of streets will happen on a rolling basis following the 7:00 AM start, but final discretion lies with the Fire and Police departments.
Major Course Closures
The marathon route impacts several major thoroughfares. Here is a breakdown of key street closures along the course:
- Sunset Blvd (Echo Park Ave to Virgil Ave): Closed from 4:00 AM to an estimated reopening of 11:10 AM.
- Hollywood Blvd (Hillhurst Ave to La Brea): Closed from 4:00 AM to an estimated reopening of 12:00 PM (Noon).
- Santa Monica Blvd (Wilshire Blvd to Sepulveda Blvd): Closed from 5:00 AM to an estimated reopening of 6:00 PM.
- Wilshire Blvd (Sepulveda Blvd to Barrington Ave): Closed from 5:00 AM to an estimated reopening of 2:20 PM.
- San Vicente Blvd (Wilshire Blvd to Saltair Ave): Closed from 5:00 AM to an estimated reopening of 5:00 PM.

Freeway Ramp Closures
While the main freeway arteries remain open, several ramps will be closed to manage traffic flow around the course:
- 110 Northbound (Hill St / Stadium Way): Closed from 3:00 AM to 9:35 AM.
- 110 Southbound (Sunset Blvd): Closed from 3:00 AM to 9:20 AM.
- 101 Northbound (Hollywood Blvd): Closed from 3:55 AM to 11:40 AM.
- 101 Southbound (Highland Blvd): Closed from 4:05 AM to 11:44 AM.
- 405 Southbound (Wilshire Blvd – Westbound): Closed from 4:45 AM to 3:00 PM.
Additional Local Access Closures
Certain streets next to the course will be designated as “Local Access Only”. Residents needing to reach these areas have to request access.
- Downtown/Echo Park (Stadium Way from Scott Ave to Chavez Ravine Pl): Closed from 4:00 AM to 9:00 AM.
- Hollywood (Cahuenga Blvd from Franklin Ave to Sunset Blvd): Closed from 4:00 AM to 11:40 AM.
- West Hollywood (Fairfax Ave from Hollywood Blvd to Santa Monica Blvd): Closed from 4:00 AM to 12:15 PM.
- Beverly Hills (3rd St from Oakhurst Dr to Robertson Blvd): Closed from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- West LA (Beverly Glen Blvd from Wilshire Blvd to Santa Monica Blvd): Closed from 5:00 AM to 1:50 PM.
