The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is finally here. As Subaru’s small SUV, this vehicle has long been popular among consumers. And now, we have the third-generation Crosstrek here in the States. There is one change that might be disappointing to some, but overall, it looks like Subaru got it right. So, what’s the deal with the 2024 Crosstrek?
What is the MSRP of the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek?
In terms of cost, the 2024 Crosstrek SUV has an MSRP of around $26,000. Now, it is not available yet, but in comparison to the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek, that is a price increase of about $3k. That is likely due to the disappointing change that I mentioned before.
You can no longer buy a new Subaru Crosstrek with a manual transmission. You might be surprised, but even the 2023 Crosstrek could come outfitted with a six-speed manual. That’s no longer the case for the third generation of this small SUV.
Undoubtedly, Crosstreks with the standard transmission, likely made up a minority of sales. Most folks don’t get a new SUV that requires you to row your own gears, and that even includes the Jeep Wrangler. Auto enthusiasts might be sad that yet another manual transmission has bit the dust. But the majority of the market probably won’t notice.
The 2024 Crosstrek still has the same engine options
As Subaru’s small SUV, it was rumored that maybe the 2024 Crosstrek could be getting more power. As it stands, that does not appear to be the case. The standard engine is still a 2.0-liter engine with 152 horsepower.
For more power, folks can opt for a 2.5-liter engine that makes 182 horsepower. One of the bigger complaints about older Crosstrek SUVs is that they can feel underpowered. So, getting that 182 hp engine might be worth it to some.
Although we are not getting more power from this vehicle yet, according to Car and Driver, Subaru has improved the AWD system. Additionally, the X-Mode system may offer more capability. Like most Subaru models, the 2024 Crosstrek will come with standard AWD. And that has long been a perk of opting for this Japanese car brand.
When will this Small SUV be available?
It is expected that the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek will hit dealerships in the near future. But, with how popular Subaru’s small SUV is, it might be hard to actually find one. Pair popularity with supply chain issues, it would be easy to see Subaru struggling to keep up with demand.
An exact date for the release of the 2024 Crosstrek has not been established yet. And, at the time of publishing, you can’t order one. That said, we do know more about the third-gen Crosstrek than we did before. And on paper, it looks like it is going to be a real winner.
