Buyers looking for an entry-level luxury should look into a 2017 Lexus IS. We typically recommend checking out a 5-year-old model as that’s a good sweet spot for anyone looking to save money while getting updated features and technology. As such, the 2017 IS350 offers an enthusiastic engine, good ride quality, and all-wheel drive.

First things first, when it comes to reliability, the 2017 IS350 gets a 4 out of 5 rating from Repair Pal, which is great. The website also estimates that it can cost an average of $543 in annual repair costs, which is lower than average for the luxury compact segment.

Furthermore, JD Power gave the Lexus IS an 89 out of 100 rating, which is considered “great” by the publication’s standards. In that case, it’s safe to say that the 2017 Lexus IS350 is a reliable car and could likely surpass the 200,000-mile mark with ease.

What does the 2017 Lexus IS350 come with?

The 2017 Lexus IS350 comes loaded with features like a leather interior, a digital instrument cluster, and a wide infotainment screen for easy use. Other tech features include a power moonroof, Siri Eyes Free, heated and ventilated seats, and a heated steering wheel. Some of its standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and a forward collision warning with automatic braking.

Under the hood is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that is “super smooth,” according to Edmunds. It makes 306 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque, which motivates the car up to 60 mph from a standstill in only 6 seconds and down the quarter-mile in 14.4 seconds.

As stated before, an all-wheel drive configuration is available in addition to the rear-drive architecture. For those wanting a sportier appearance, there’s an F-Sport package that includes sportier wheels and exterior aero parts.

Depending on how the car is equipped, a 2017 Lexus IS350 can cost around $20,000 to $35,000. However, it’s worth noting that many of the cars we found on the cheaper end of the price spectrum had almost 100,000 miles on the odometer. The more expensive examples all had closer to 20,000 to 30,000 miles on them.

Either way, the 2017 Lexus IS offers buyers a sensible and sporty sedan that provides plenty of driving excitement, practicality, and comfort. Ultimately, anyone looking for the reliability that Lexus is known for will be happy with the IS sedan for many years. Apparently, it’s just as sturdy as the rest of the car in the Japanese automaker’s stable.
